Well we are now getting longer stints at sea with periods of settled weather at last, which is just as well as the wreck fishing is in good form at the moment. Cod and Pollack are still responding to lures on the drift but the best action is at anchor with bait, Cuttle and Mackerel flappers are doing the business. In the last few weeks we've seen more Ling than anyone can remember in recent years with one day alone producing 12 on the boat. The best went 22lbs and there are bigger still about. Plenty of summer Cod about in the 4lbs to 10lbs class but this week saw a cracking specimen of 24lbs on the boat, which is exceptional for a summer Cod. The Congers are playing too with specimens up to 65lbs so far but there are plenty of bigger ones down there. Pollack are taking bait too with doubles still being landed and baited feathers are producing very good Black Bream too, the best just over 4lbs in recent weeks. So, if you want to book a trip wreck fishing get in quick, I have a handful of dates left this year on suitable tides and they are going fast!

We sailed from the marina at 10.15 am to be met with a calm sea we headed out to a mark that had produced well for us.When we arrived we imediately started to fish.with young Chris hooking into a nice 5lb Cod the mark did not produce like we expected so we moved on to another mark ,Aus and Chris now becoming the dog kings we moved to a mark on the way in only to catch a dab no smoothies today i blame it on the small tide we have to blame something thats fishing.Fish caught Dogfish, Cod, Gunard, Weevers,Pouting Poor Cod Bullhuss and Dabs. overall another day full of banter and good humour.

The olympic sailing events have now finished in Weymouth, they were a great success! This week has seen the first couple of trips back angling that I have been absolutely buzzing about! FIshing seemed to start where it left off. Fantastic Plaice fishing and Turbot and Brill on the banks.
A session at anchor produced some nice Bream along with Undulates and Tope for those that had a crack with the bigger baits.
Settled weather from the weekend onwards should see us get out on a good run! Watch this space.
Once again thanks to all who continue to keep coming down to Weymouth and offer the Weymouth charter fleet so much support.
Pictured is Glenn Knight with the best plaice of the week at a cracking 6lb 3oz!

A nice double figure hound on Sunday was the best fish of the weekend. The sun shone and everyone went home with a red face and at least 5 hounds each so not so bad in the end.. -
