09/02/12 A lot of weed today but Eugene and John still found plenty of cod 24 up 5lb and a few whiting as well,big tide on the flood made the down tide rods work hard with a 1lb+ lead on to hold bottom the balloon method that we use in these fast tides came up trumps working the gear 50-100yds from the stern up tiders were ok with 8ozs but iam affraid you tend to lose a bit of tackle as the bottom is littered with crap,well done you boys see you soon,Brian/Paul.

Today saw settled weather again, so with only a couple of lads interested in a trip we set sail for a bit of winter uptiding. we had a good spring tide today with plenty of tide to get the fish feeding. we had a great start with me catching a fish touching 10lb, but the rest of the day proved a bit slow despite a few moves. we finally called it day when the heavens opened and we got a dollop of snow!

06/02/12 The snow kept the party away today due to the distance and road conditions,but me Paul and Mason decided to go we sat in the n/roads for the full ebb it was a bit slow to begin with but when the tide started to run the cod started to feed with a 10 stone fish box full by by slack water about 15,30 we headed in the fish were all caught on loligo supplied by sam cole another great days fishing,Brian/Paul.

03.02.12 Individual Day
We left the marina at 8:45 and headed to our first mark. It took Geoff(after 3 trips with us) not long to boat the first fish which was a 3lb Cod. A steady stream of fish was had all day with Whiting and Dabs thrown into the mix. Laughs were had by all. Total Cod for the day 9, biggest weighed in at 4lb 4 oz, too many whiting and Dabs to Count.

Very foggy start today had to wait for clearance out. Headed out to Corton as our trip north over the weekend proved very dissapointing with the cod being bite shy. Fished the flood down to the slack with plenty of whiting few keepers nice to see. No cod till tide turned on the ebb ended up with 8 to 10 fish and more whiting had a half day leaving behind a flat calm sea totally different to the weekend! Thanks to Richard,Len,Barry and Peter for a most enjoyable day. Jon

5 FEBUARY 2012 DAVE STALLWOODS TRIP
WE LEFT MARINA AT 9.45 AM FISHING FOR COD, LOADS OF BANTER FROM THE LADS, AS WE CRUISED UP THE RIVER TO OUR MARK. I WAS HOPING FOR A BETTER DAY, THAN THE PREVIOUS TRIP THE DAY BEFORE,IT STARTED OFF SLOW SO I GOT MY GET ME OUT OF THE ?$$? ROD OUT AND LANDED A 4LB COD IN ABOUT 10 MINS. THIS GAVE THE LADS A NEW LEASE OF LIFE AND WE TRIED 3 DIFFERENT MARKS. WHICH PRODUCED 11 COD TO 3LB 9 OZ, DABS AND WHITING WITH DAVE MANAGING TO BREAK IN HIS NEW UPTIDER AND REEL WITH THE HEAVIEST COD

04.02.12 GLYN JONES TRIP
MOST LIKELY THE COLDEST AND WETEST DAY OF THE YEAR. WE LOCKED OUT AT 9AM TO FISH FOR COD. THE RAIN STARTED TO FALL AND FREEZE EVERYTHING IT TOUCHED. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER I HAVE SEEN ICICLES ON A FISHING ROD. THE BOAT HAD A SKIRT OF ICICLES 4" HANGING DOWN AROUND THE ROOF. BACK TO THE FISHING 1 COD ,DABS AND WHITING.
A REALLY BAD DAY I SUPPOSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE NOW AND THEN,

Sat 4 th Feb. headed out to sanbank off South Cross Sand with slot in the morning weather , the finder was constantly full of baitfish on the surface, sprats and herring i suppose. The cod were not playing ball at all only flatties and whiting we tried every bait under the sun still no cod! Headed in due to wind picking up,after speaking to other charter boats off Corton not doing great we headed off to mark off Britania Pier ended up with our old friend the whiting. No codling at all North of Yarmouth on that day it wasnt to be. Thanks to John,Andy,Simon,Ben,Marty, Arek,Paul and Harry for putting up with the biting cold,lack of cod,and rough trip back, one of those days i would like to forget but we tried our best and i suppose thats fishing!
