    Report on-board Lady Grace

had another fishing trip today. the weather was great for december with the estuary flat calm and overcast. it hasnt been too cold either so with some decent tides this week its nice to get out away from the christmas tv. we did a 6.5hr trip fishing the flood through to the start of the ebb. there are still plenty of whiting about keeping us busy and still the odd bigger one for the plate. we had the odd cod thrown in too and ended up with 5 all together. out tommorrow on a local comp. but i have most of the rest of the week free should you get bored of re-runs of carry on films. still a few fish about further off too. scott has had three trips so far over the xmas break with the best day totalling 30 codling and one roker. for more information available dates and a weekly fishing update visit www.essexseafishing.co.uk or phone 07791859624

  • 01/04/2012 Fishing Report by Roger Lennon on Skerry Belle (Ramsgate, Kent)

    Report on-board Skerry Belle

Let me start by saying I still have spaces available for Bank Holiday Monday. My 4 hour trips have now started, which are a great insight into boat fishing- for both novices and the beginner. I have a fresh supply of peeler crab on board.Give me a call to get your order in.
While the fishing just goes from strength to strength, with the change over of winter to summer species in full swing. Now is the time to bag up on skate, especially if you've never caught one as 20+ fish a trip is quite common. Add to this the hounds, spurdogs, bass, and spring codling. I think April/May is going to be a bumper time for fishing up to 10 miles off. Still have good tide dates available. I look forward to answering all your queries for trips aboard Bayside. All my trips include rods, reels, tackle and some baits. 07805250427.
    Tight Lines!
    Roger

  • 23/12/2011 Fishing Report by Bob Marshall on Duke IV (Ramsgate, Kent)

23 Dec 2011 by Bob Marshall

    Report on-board Duke IV

Plenty of fish to catch off Ramsgate at the moment with Skate, Cod & Codling along with masses of Whiting. The weather has been kind with light winds and the sun has even come out on occasions.
Lugworm bait seems the best method for the Cod, add a strip of squid and the whiting are on it!
The Skate fishing is pretty good with herring chunk being the favoured bait. These fish will stay around all winter so if the Cod fishing declines due to the sprat invasion we still have quality fish to chase.
Chris caught this Codling on lugworm.
Some weekend dates available in the new year and the thursday individuals trips will continue throughout the winter so plenty of opportunity for a day out fishing on Duke IV

  • 12/2011 Fishing Report by Colin Penny on Flamer IV (Weymouth, Dorset)

    Dec 2011 by Colin Penny

    Report on-board Flamer IV

DECEMBER 2011 - Mark Towner age 59 from Winchester enjoyed his first trip aboard Flamer IV.Mark caught plenty of whiting on a three hook hoki rig baited with strips of Ammo mackerel and squid. On three occassions a conger grabbed his whiting baits and broke one of the hooks off.Mark rigged up with a stronger trace baited with whole calamari squid and caught the conger an eel of 20Ib which was released.Mark also caught the usual dogs and pouts but his best fish of the day was a 14Ib 8oz spurdog. The big spur was weighed, photographed and returned alive.Mark is pictured with his spurdog.

Mark sent me an email which read "Thanks Colin,I really enjoyed my 1st trip in the area, and I got a good taste of the fishing Quality.I look forward to booking with you again in the spring".

17 Dec 2011 by jon old

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Headed north today out of Gt Yarmouth before the sun was up slight north westerly breeze ,forcast wind increasing getting bored with Corton Cliffs so hit the winterton ridge resulting in small bass nice to see, they seem to be staying through the winter shame not in numbers. Pestered with the continous whitting not many sizable finding fresh herring baits sorts out the bigger fish. Decided to throw out couple of herring nets which resulted in feeding three seals and on hauling found we had filled up killing our trip having to head home and spent the rest of the afternoon taking fish out the nets! Thanks to Dave,Geof,Barry and others for their help .
