    Report on-board Amino

Having had 3 previous trips, Cliff, Dave, Ernie and Andrew came out on their free inshore trip today and managed to get amongst a few fish. The weather was kind and not quite as forecast although the recent stir has kicked up a lot of weed that made fishing difficult at times.

Despite the weed the chaps ended up with 18 Codling (15 keepers mainly in the 3lb bracket), a few Whiting to 1lb and a fair amount of the dreaded Woofers to boot.

  • 05/11/2011 Fishing Report by Trevor Small on Rocket (Poole, Dorset)

5 Nov 2011 by Trevor Small

    Report on-board Rocket

A fantastic start to the 2011 winter Cod season. Our first (and Pooles first) Cod caught on October 15th. Since then we have boated at least one Cod on every trip. Our heaviest fish so far has been an 18lb'er ,but we have lost bigger fish for one reason or another. The weather can be very unpredictable ,this time of year so it makes sense to book the largest boat available. Rocket a 40' catamaran has been designed to operate in any weather conditions the English channel can throw at us. We are so confident that we garantee if you book a Cod trip, you GET a Cod trip.OR YOUR MONEY BACK.

    Good luck
    Regds Trevor

NOVEMBER 2011 - At last managed to get out on one of my drifting trips for bass and cod with all the previous ones being cancelled due to bad weather.Plenty of bass up to 7Ib were caught along with 5 cod on a variety of lures. How ever rhubarb and custard sindewinders and blue and white red gills were the most successful. On the cod front 74 year old Mike Carter caught two with David Bruce catching three.Pictured is Derek Inwood with the biggest bass of the trip weighing 7Ib.

5 Nov 2011 by Scott Belbin

    Report on-board Lady Grace

i had another trip booked today. this time there were three experienced anglers and i managed to get a rod out myself. we were on a 12-4pm trip again and we left just before low water with a view to fishing the first few hours of the flood. unfortunatly it took a while before the tide got going although we were kept busy with whiting from the start. there are no shortage of whiting about this year and i even managed to hook two on one hook earlyer! as the tide got under way i had the first codling although this turned out to be the only codling of the day as it wasnt long before we had to go home. the lads were all happy and there had been plenty of banter aboard as russel (who's a regular aboard the 'galloper' with scott) kept us laughing all of the time. ive got plenty of weekend dates between now and christmass so if you fancy a trip then get in touch. please visit www.essexseafishing.co.uk for more information.

  • 05/11/2011 Fishing Report by Paul Fitch on She Likes It Rough 2 (Shotley, Suffolk)

5 Nov 2011 by Paul Fitch

Report on-board She Likes It Rough 2

Thanks to a gap in the weather Saturday it gave us a chance to get out once again. With very few Cod showing of any decent size we decided to target the Roker which are still around in good numbers. Dean’s group landed 18 with a majority of the fish weighing between 5lb and 8lb. The rest of the catch was made up of Whiting and far too many poxy Spotty Dogs.
The tides are starting to build now and hopefully the Cod will arrive in good numbers on them. We are desperate for colder weather to lose the summer species that are still being caught and hopefully return to normality

  • 11/2011 Fishing Report by Lyle Stantiford on Supanova II (Weymouth, Dorset)

    Nov 2011 by Lyle Stantiford

    Report on-board Supanova II

October was a great month for sport from Weymouth on board Supanova. The weather put pay to a fair few trips as quite often is the case at this time of year.

The Reef fishing proved exciting with bream catches at the strongest they have been all year, a nice few undulates were taken along with conger, huss and the odd late Tope making an appearance which added a nice bit of fun for the lucky anglers managing to land them on their Bream gear.

The Banks consistently threw up decent catches of Flatfish with Brill more Prolific than the Turbot with fish to just under 8lb it was great action for many. The Plaice fishing continued until the latter part of the month where numbers seemed to reduce as did the size! Fingers crossed they come back next year as strong as this years showing!

The bass fishing of late has been fairly poor with the primary reason being the late arrival of the sprats, however the last couple of days has seen fantastic catches on the arrival of the sprat. This should see action continue until christmas and hopefully into the new year!!!

Our efforts will now move to the Bass and the last remaining bream and early arrival Channel Whiting with the odd nice Cod thrown in for good measure, i'm looking forward to an action packed Autumn on Supanova.

Thanks to all for their continues support to me and Weymouth!

    Lyle

30 Oct 2011 by Noel Griffith

    Report on-board PLAN B

i came over to fish a fishing for fun meet upon rays new boat "the merlin"..fishing with lee johnson, and the fff crew was an experience, and Ray was an absulute gentleman, coming from Ireland,i had no gear.Ray set me up with quality rods and reels, already rigged up,with all baits supplied by the skipper at no extra cost, and there was MOUNTAINS of bait,as soon as we were out over the mark, tea and bacon butties came thick and fast,as did the whiting and rokers to our rods.Being Irish,i had not uptided before,Ray could not have been more helpful showing me the tequniques of uptiding and being very patient with me.The merlin is a very comfortable boat to fish, with loads of room for eight anglers, and Ray and his crew worked hard all day to get us onto the fish,I had a most enjoyable day and intend to bring an irish crew over next year to fish this venue with Ray again.
