Kingys Party
We left the marina at 5:45am to head offshore. We stopped for some mackeral on the way out and filled a bucket. We then proceded out 2 and a half hours, to the first mark. We immediately started to haul in Pollack to 8lb 8oz.
We then moved to another mark and had fish straight away after having a few hours on the second mark, we moved to a 3rd mark and were into fish from the first drop. On the way in we stopped for some more mackeral. We arrived back into the marina at 4:45pm. All in all a cracking day with a cracking group of lads. We look forward to welcoming Kingy and the gang back in the winter for some Mersey Cod fishing.

Today was the 1st day we got back to sea following a week of high winds and swell like we'd expect in winter!

Venturing out I expected we might have to run a fair distance to find some clear water, but stopping at the 5 mile ground on the way produced a few fish, so the water wasnt as coloured as we first feared. We continued working our way out to 9 and 10 mile ground taking fish each drop. The fishing wasnt fantastic but the lads took a steady picking throughout the day. The last couple of hours saw a change in tide and with it we saw an increase in activity taking many fish each drift, even though we were fishing a reef mark we were taking ling into low double figures each drift with a few coddling chucked into the equation too. The best fish was a ling around 11 1/2lb, we also saw pollock to 7lb, monk fish to 6lb and cod to 6lb, whiting, pouting and the usual summer mackerel.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Mistress

Report on-board Duke IV
Back out to the wrecks again on Duke IV and still plenty of Cod available. Rick caught Cod steadily throughout the day and Kevs group also caught plenty. For some of them it was their first wreck fishing trip and despite emptying my lead supply they did well catching some good Cod! The Pollack fishing was ok, not as hot as the last trip but some pretty tasty Mackerel took the jelly worms on offer!

Always interesting these individuals days, meeting new people, sometimes they struggle a bit but at the end of the day they all left with plenty of prime Cod! -

headed out to a local mark off corton as there was still a strong northerly breeze dropped anchor and started fishing which was difficult as the wind was stronger than the tide and blowing the boat all over the place. fish started coming in steadily mainly smoothounds around the five pound mark with the odd whiting thrown in for good measure then lennie (his 70th birthday trip) was into a good fish his rod was bent doule as a 14lb starry hound broke the surface and was landed, ended the day with a dozen smoothhounds and four whiting a good day had by all
