Report on-board Galloper
today we had 7 individuals out with us and quite a varried crew. paul, steve and bart are well seasoned anglers and kev, greg and john are just getting into it and then ed who normally beach fishes and was out on his first boat fishing trip today. we headed out into a fair swell left over from yesterday but it was forecast to drop through the day. we started in search of some thornbacks and were catching from the first cast. by low water we had managed 10 thornbacks a few whiting and an under sized cod. it was much calmer now and we had a move over slack water in search of some cod on the flood. as we arrived the first trickle of flood was starting and the lads were getting bites from the first chuck. it wasnt long before we started to catch some codling and by the end of the day we had managed 15 codling with nine of them being sizable fish and the rest thrown back. we also saw lots of whiting, a few dogs and a couple of pout. on the last nockings we saw another thornback too which put the final tally at 11 thornback,15cod and lots of bits and pieces. it was also a pleasure to finish the day in sunshine, it wont be long before were catching summer species. for more information available dates and a weekly fishing update please visit www.essexseafishing.co.uk

Three very different trips to end the month. With the tides dropping away this weekend we were looking for the bigger fish offshore. Saturdays trip was hindered by bad weather and limited us to inshore nether the less we managed 9 Roker to just over 9lb and a few spring codling well done Dave and your group for still fishing hard in bad conditions.
Sundays Individuals trip the weather was still not ideal but we pushed off in the hope of some bigger Cod, Fishing a mark which has normally produced better fish this time of year for us, saw us land codling up to 5lb but no Lunkers unfortunately, but everybody got amongst the fish and the afternoon turned out to be a cracker weather wise.
Monday was our first trip out to the offshore wrecks where we found the cod more than obliging to take our jelly worms and twin tails offered on the drift. Nothing huge but with well over 90 fish landed in just two hours fishing, everyone was happy and glad to get out on the distant wrecks again after the dull winter break.
The signs are there for a good wrecking season with the wrecks holding fish already and from now on the wrecking will improve steadily as the week’s progress.
If you fancy a go at the offshore wrecking off the Suffolk coast this season please get in touch. -

Had a mixed group of lads on today and decided to have a look out on the 20mile the forcast was supposed to be spot on but as usuall we had a good breeze from the northwest first thing just make things a bit bumpy.

We had a nice steady ride out i said to the lads the wind would drop away soon when we arrived out on the 20 mile the wind did just the opposit and freshned even more white water everywhere i was thinking this cant last for long anyway i set the boat up over the wreck and told the lads to drop down most of the lads had shads on a mixture of hollowbellys and storm shads the first drif most of rods were bent over as the cod attacked the the lures more or less instantly for the first dozen of so drifts it was cod which were showing in the back of mind i was thinking pollock they cant be far away no sooner had the thought entered my head and one of the lads was shouting for the gaff a cracking pollock was on the surface when isaw the fish i new it was another double figure pollock a lovelly fish going just under 12lb then the next drift up came another cracker this one was one just over 10lb by now the wind had all but gone the sea had dropped more or less flat overall the really nice day with some really nice cod and once again those double figure pollock.
2 of the lads with the best pollock of the day and a couple of cod out of there catch .UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Otter 2

Fantastic day out plaice fishing on Emma Jayne ( a fantastic stable, fast moving platform ideal for angling) with Colin 'Scooby' Cooter this Saturday. We left Selsey at lunchtime for some mussel grounds near West Head. Drifting back and forth with the flood tide working large ragworm we had a great afternoon's sport catching good size plaice and a few dabs.

After Saturdays poor inshore fishing possibly due to the murky sea and swell combined Sundays trip had to be another long off shore wrecking haul but boy was it worth it for Brian Cope who beat his personal best with a marvelous Pollock of just over 15lb also I might add a Sea Urchin best ever Pollock
View Boats Page
the boat was mainly full of novice anglers who also caught plenty of cod on the bait but the pollock were the main sport I think Brian landed four all over 10lb and one around 13lb I managed to land one just over 8lb in between untangling and re rigging the novice boys from Sheffield but a great day and well worth the trip out the festival looks to me like a pollock winner allthough we did see a double figure ling as well on the boat Sunday but my money is on the pollock in this years spring festival lets just hope the weather stays fineUPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl
