Report on-board Supanova II
Hi all,
View Boats Page
Well the breaming has now seemed to die away but the Cod fishing has been fantastic on the wrecks with good numbers of double figure fish. We have also seen some cracking Pollack to 22lb's and ling to 23lb's. The congering on the wrecks has also been steady.
Inshore has seen good numbers of Tope, congers and Bull huss on the reefs and continued Turbot fishing on the Shambles. The next month should see all the above continued with hopefully the arrival of a bass or two and the bream again.
Tight lines to all!!! -

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
The second sharking trip of the year took place aboard the Shy-Torque on Monday this week. A group of 4 lads from Skegness joined us on this mission. The weather was perfect for the job on the morning of the trip and remained that way all day. The mackerel fishing was excellent throughout the day making for plenty of chum for the lads. Based on our last sharking trip 2 Mondays ago ( pictures to follow ! ) we really were hoping for great results again. With the anchor dropped at around 9.0am things were going a little slow to say the least until at 11.45am Greg Parkin pictured here managed to beat this fine Porbeagle to the boat after a 40 minute battle. Well done to you Greg and looking forward to seeing you all again on your 2 day mission at the end of September.

Report on-board Trojan Warrior
SATURDAY WAS A MEAN WINTERY DAY FROM THE NORTH, BUT COME SUNDAY, THE SWELL HAD FALLEN BACK ENOUGH TO LET US GET OUT OF WHITBY. DESPITE THE SIZE OF TIDE, THERE WAS LITTLE WIND AND THE FISH CAME STEADY, UNTILL THE WIND FINALY FRESHENED, AND WE CALLED IT A DAY. BEST FISH BEING THIS 21LB LING FROM A REEF EDGE. TWO MORE SMALLER ONES CAME FROM THE SAME MARK BUT NOT TO BEAT THIS FELLA.

Today was a trip to the offshore banks to fish for the bass. Four individuals made up the trip. First up we had to catch some launce our chosen bait for the day. Using small Sabikis and shrimp rigs we soon had enough for the trip. Using the launce as livebait we set about catching some bass. Just on the one tide we fished they landed over 30 bass between them ranging between 2.5lbs up to 9.lbs couldn’t hit the magic double figure fish today but some good size bass were caught with the majority in the 4-7lb range. On the way in the lads wanted to try for some cod. I didn’t hold out much hope, as we have not been catching much off these inshore wrecks this year yet. But I hadn’t fished this one yet so we gave it a go. The little trawler came up trumps. After only 30 minutes they all had 5 cod each. all ranging between 3-8lb so a nice end to a good days fishing. -

Report on-board Flamer IV
THE ROYAL HOTEL TOTTINGTON from Bury did their second weekend trip of the year aboard Flamer III and did two days wreck fishing catching some excellent cod and numerous pollack along with some pain in the ass pouts.Alan Bradshaw the boat booking secretary was pleased with a cod weighing 14Ib 8oz he landed and commented it was the best cod he had caught for a few years. He was out done though by club member Paul Snowden who landed an 18Ib 8oz cod (Paul is Pictured with his big cod). The cod were caught on a variety of lures such as sidewinders,Shads etc with the pollack being caught on mainly firetail jelly worms. During the two days a lot of gear was lost on the wrecks and a common cry was "I've lost the fu**ing lot" which I think will now be the new club motto. The lads enjoyed their weekend and are looking forward to their next weekend trip aboard Flamer III in September and have already booked their dates for 2011.
