It was great to be at sea again the other day. We grabbed a weather window and took the Galloper out on our first trip of the year. We might have been a bit rusty after the last couple of months but the lads fished hard and managed to find plenty of dogfish to keep them busy. Winter smooth hounds are still a novelty but always welcome. This one put a decent bend in Stephen Clarks rod and Steve hill was pleased with a thornback ray on his first cast. Unfortunately they are all too rare nowadays.
I have spaces this week aboard Galloper from brightlingsea Essex. Call me anytime for full boat bookings or individual spaces.

Sorry I've been quiet for a while. It's been a busy few weeks cracking on with maintenance on the Galloper. She's going back in Wednesday and our first trip is Saturday.
Although it feels like ages it wasn't that long since our last trips when we found some nice fishing for the time of year.
Nowadays I expect to catch hounds year round and sure enough there were a few to be had among the dogfish.
They weren't giants but big enough to put a bend your rods and the lads managed 10-15 during the course of the day. We saw a few pouting and whiting and a few bonus spurs to finish off with. Alex was very pleased with his new pb dogfish as well! I've seen smaller Alex so there's room for improvement.

Happy, and heath new year to all my customers, friends and fellow angler's. BRAVEHEARTII was lifted yesterday and will be out of the water for maintenance and upgrades until early March when the season begins and we see thornback rays moving inshore and the first of the summer species, we had our first smoothound on the 6th of march last year, a nice specimen of 14lb along with several smaller ones.
For BRAVEHEART'S last trip of the year, We did a 5hr fundraising trip for H.A.R.P Southend-on-Sea's homeless charity and through the generosity of the angler's, raised £450 along with an donation of 20 fleece lined beanie hats and snoods. It was a great way to end the season and for a fantastic cause. Unfortunately the cod never showed last year, but every year is different so we may see a few in the spring with any luck.
I look forward to welcoming anglers old and new this year. BRAVEHEARTII is fully licenced and insured for 7 angler's and specialise in smaller parties, often taking groups of 2 or 3 angler's who charter the whole boat for themselves along with family day outs, which has proven to be very popular. Hope everyone had a great Christmas & new year
Just a quick on to say thank you to all new & returning faces thanks for all the support over the seasons its been a pleasure as always
2024 was another fantastic year on the bass especially on the lures
Looking forward to getting stuck back in to the bass upon there return in spring!
Plenty of offshore lure trips & offshore exploring trips planned for 2025 along with the usual Hound, Ray, Tope, Bass trips locally
The 2025 diary is open & its look insanely busy from march to November

A great days fishing for the party although it was very murky in the fog with some nice Rooker (Skate) showing plenty of good sized Whiting only 2 Spotty Dogs bonus but no Cod today, Saturday 28th still very foggy so stayed inside again some cracking Whiting, only one Rooker, and one small Cod but a surprise for Chris a Bass estimated before it spat the hook of 4lb,we are now into 2025 and a few spaces for a 6hr inshore trip £50pp this Saturday 4th for full details call07771926590.

Another year done big thanks to all our customers for your continued support without you we wouldnt exist. Looking forward to next year lets hope the weathers a bit kinder in summer lost no end of trips especially for the tope. Lost some good friends this year on the boat due to cancer and old age there memories carried with us been a tough year for me personally but life goes on hopefully i wont get bitten in 2025 or if i do the other leg to have matching scars! Next few months the toughest in my opinion weather obviously come march were off again running will be putting tope dates down very shortly get your name down the days go fast as you know.
