Report on-board Galloper
February was another busy month aboard the ‘Galloper’. Unfortunately we have lost a couple of trips the last week or so which is unusual for us. Thankfully the weather in the early part of the month more than made up for it with some cracking days giving us a glimpse of early spring. the effect of the cold weather from last month has been lower numbers of thornbacks than we have seen at this time over the last few years. Although the slight rise in temperature has already got them moving again and I’m sure they will be back on track in the next few weeks. With the better weather we were able to push a little further than usual at this time of year and found a nice stamp of fish on our general trips. The average numbers were 20-40 codling a trip with several in the 3-4lbs range. There were a few whiting and the odd ray thrown in to make up the numbers. We did manage one offshore trip in search of some better cod. The cold weather had even had an effect here which resulted in far fewer dogfish than is normally the case. This was by no means a bad thing meaning our baits were left alone until something decent found them. We didn’t set the world on fire but found some nice fish. Arthur had the biggest ray of around 12lbs and Wayne had the biggest cod at 9.15lbs. to be honest the had the lions share of the days catch between them. As I mentioned the dogfish were thin on the ground with a dozen of them thrown in. I half expected to see a spurdog but we didn’t get any to the boat that day. Hopefully they will show on our next venture off there.

Over the coming weeks we should see the numbers of roker pick up as the temperature rises and these will undoubtedly be joined by the dogfish. The codling should be on the feed too before they move off next month. On our last trip they seemed to be feeding harder, with far more fish deep hooked. Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Hi guys, well Saturday saw the first group of anglers to come aboard the new Vanishing Point-2, and at 5 am in the morning, when the party boarded, the vast wheelhouse was already heated to 70 degrees, and after comments of..wow..!! corr..! bloody hell...!! "this is like a cruise ship and fishing boat all rolled into one.."

One guy said.... "this must be what heaven is like" lol so I think we can say VP-2 has the X-factor, as was anticipated.
With such huge tides, we couldn't fish in the area where we would have liked to have gone, the tide would have run way to hard, and I doubt the angles would be able to hold bottom, but once the fish started coming on in shore, it remained fairly consistent till high water, when it was time for us to depart, given such an early start, ....
So if any of you guys fancy trying out the latest £700,000.00 charter boat, give me a call on 07768 30 66 46 and book you place for a truly great day out -

Gary and Conner certainly had a few Cod to take home after what i call a bumper days fishing, was not sure how the day would pan out as we had a big tide to contend with but they stuck with it and made it look easy with 44 Cod in total all between 44-56cms what a day well done you two and i hope you enjoy your catch,Brian.

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Firstly must apoligise for lack of reports mainly down to the amount of cancelled trips due to this lovely english weather plus our millions of sprats making fishing impossible when we have got out . Change in the weather this weekend lost yesterday being Saturday 14th Valentines day as Gale Force 8 Fri was way too lumpy but managed a day with light easterly with surprising result. The old saying wind in east fish bite least was in my mind as we headed out so decided with weak tides to try in 100 ft of water a mark which is one of our banks on about the 4 mile from harbour. We had a our first fish of the day about a 4 lb cod few missed bites but in typical east wind quite a bit of rocking going on not too good for certain stomachs! Decided to be nice and headed closer in after a while just off Lowestoft front caught few more codling there nice fish around 3/4lb mark in prime condition. At slack headed back north to the mud ground hoping for some flatties to break the boredam till tide flooded but not a single one! Only one whiting today very strange. Ended up with over 20 plus cod picture here with keepers , big thanks to Bill for organising the trip again, thanks for washing down as well lads much appreciated. Looks like the big sprat shoals have nearly gone so hopefully get back to some normality, looking to get few decent fish soon as they must be there only time will tell. Will be trying the offshore banks weather and tide allowing , also our new brochure is out and printed should you wish a copy please email name and address or text will get one of to you. Until then tight lines everyone. Jon (High Flyer)

Report on-board Seawatch1
It's a couple of months since my last report and after an excellent start to the new year with some good catches of codling we had a some large shoals of spats show up in the Thames estuary and the codling gorged themselves for a two weeks, consequently they ignored our baits and we had a few quiet trips. However the spats seem to have dispersed a bit now and with the weather being kind to us we have had a few good trips with up to ninety codling up to four pound being caught in a day and one or two Thornbacks to double figures.

All in all it looks like things are shaping up for some very good spring fishing,so if you want to fill the freezer and have some fun at the same time give me a call.
All the best Lester
