Report on-board Cleveland Princess
Had a great day out with Andrew we had 8 Bass to 4lb and 4 Rooker to 8lb plus a few Whiting/Dabs and loads of Spotty Dogs it was a bit lumpy but if you go to the marks that produce you all ways get a nice lot of fish but the conditions have to be good enough to do this for safety reasons thats why we dont take any chances when we are chartering but if its just a mates day out we tend to go and look at differant areas to see if they will fish when conditions are ok to take a party to them the photo is of a ball we picked up 4 mile off it came from Germany that was a good crossing ,BP.

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Just a quick report so as to bring us up to date, had alot of small fish previous month, tiny undersize ,
View Boats Page
codling, pesky whiting stealing the bait and dabs a plenty when the fishing slowed up. We have persevered over these weeks and now the end is in sight the start of spring!!!!! The spotty dogs are back inshore, few skate now showing up along with a few early smoothounds so my guess is after easter its all forward steaming. A couple of decent bass been caught inshore as well, still patchy fishing but it always is at the start
On the commercial side our longlining taking huge numbers of spurdogs in the deep water all returned as by law protected, will make great sport on the charter boat if we can find them on the day. Nice few blondes showing up too, but mostly looking forward to the tope arriving when we will be doing specialist trips, please book early as the list is quite long at the moment and not forgetting this year we will be doing more evening trips as Dave Pike has now joined the team now doubling our boat cover. Dave is keen to hear from anyone interested in long range bass trips obviously prices go up due to fuel costs but thats expected. looking forward to the summer season hoping you can join us look forward to hearing from you. Until then, tight lines everyone.

Report on-board Amino
After the very windy winter where it was almost impossible to get out at all for the last 4 months, the last few weeks of more settled weather have allowed us to finally get out.
View Boats Page
Fishing this winter was very poor (when we got out!) with an abundance of sprats and herrings keeping the Cod feeding mid-water and not at all interested in anglers baits. Those we did catch were small but the positive part is that this is a good sign for the future.
The last few trips have seen us after the large numbers of Thornbacks that are appearing along the coast as they look for a mate to have some fun with ;-). as well as any early Bass and remaining Codling. Once we get through the damn Dogfish, the Thornbacks are feeding well and recent trips have seen us land upto a dozen up to 11lb, some Whiting, the odd Cod to 5lb and tonnes of Dogs!
With water temperatures very high for the time of year, who knows if we will get a spring run of Cod, lets hope so, but if not there will be plenty to go at with some Smoothounds arriving already to give us some fun on sporting gear. -

Report on-board Galloper
March was a good month for us around the thames estuary. The improvement in weather must have helped all of the skippers and anglers through out the country get afloat. we were out there too making the most of the weather. The rise in temperature early in the month helped the numbers of thorn-backs increase. We have had some good catches of them in January and February and numbers increased into early march with our best day 37. we also managed to get offshore for a trip in search of an early spurdog or late cod. We found a couple of spurs and landed one cod with several good fish lost as is often the case. There were a few thorn-backs known locally as roker) off here too and all in all it was a good day with some interesting sights as I mentioned on my report on my site. The biggest spur fell to Neil at 15.4lbs and he's pictured whilst juggling it.
View Boats Page
As the month moved on a bit of cold air from the north seems to have slowed the roker numbers down a little inshore as these fish can be pushed to deeper water by colder weather. Im sure with the current warmer weather and daylight hours increasing the main spring run of roker will be in on the next set of tides.
We had our first bass at the start of the month and I’ve heard of the odd one or two mixed in with catches aboard other boats and I’m sure they will feature more regularly in the coming weeks.
We’ve still had a few sizeable codling mixed in with our catches in places and there's loads of undersized fish that aren't worth counting but will be great sport come the autumn. We will still see the odd codling mixed in and I hope to get offshore in the coming weeks in search of one or two bigger fish along with the spurdogs before its too late.
Over the coming weeks we will be mainly targetting the roker but will turn our attention to the bass if the opportunity should arise. As I mentioned there is still a good chance of the odd decent cod if we can get to the right places but if not there will be plenty of fun, sheltered fishing inshore.
I update my own website with an honest report on a weekly basis as well as keeping my availability up-to-date on both sites so feel free to take a look.
