Report on-board Lady Grace
After having to cancel this trip twice since Christmas due to the awful wind, today we finally got out. David started us off with a codling, followed by Will catching a nice whiting and Chris bagging his first whiting too. Only Matt left to catch and the pressure was on. All went quiet apart from the seal popping his head up round us. One the last cast David and Chris bagged another whiting each and Matt blanked.

After a very fruitful birdwatching trip this morning we headed out in the afternoon to try our luck at the fishing. As we headed out to our mark we saw 2 porpoises surface. I had been warned by the couple out on the boat that they had eaten dodgy oysters the day before so were still recovering and after anchoring up unfortunately the took it in turns being sick. Needless to say they didnt get much of a chance to fish in the 3 hour trip and unfortunately we came home empty handed. But we did spot a guillimot on the way in and the sun had shone on us all day.

Well at last, break in the weather forcast spot on for once, sea still bit swelly from last nights bashing. Had to stay inshore today wind still on the keen side, so decided to stay in the Roads reports of small codling from the beaches north and south all week so wasnt too bothered. First out today picked our spot soon to be joined by the others seven in total all in same predicument. Tide was racing but picked up small codling straight away and few whiting, then seemed to die, fish came on in spurts today. Wasnt the best of days bit slow at times ,few keepers of codling 6 in total, threw back a few undersize codling, some nice size whiting kept as well. Last cast of the day for Stephen resulted in a nice perfect condition bass of three and half pound nice surprise and perfect end to the day. Picture of Stephen,Tristan and Ian with some of the fish. Thanks to the others,Adrian,Tony ,Chris ,Chalky,Paul and Chris, enjoyable day, plenty of sunshine just great to get out.Soon as we get a break we shall be out on the banks for those bigger fish in deeper water, praying for the weather to behave itself ! All the best and thanks again men. Jon. (High Flyer)

well the codling have turned up in numbers as expected however the weather had other ideas on the odd occasion when the wind don't blow the fishing has been excellent plenty of codling between 2-4lb one group taking 65 in one trip!! still good numbers of roker and the higher than average sea temp should see an earlier start to the main skate fishing season

At long last a break in the weather and we managed to get out and although a big tide kept us fishing inshore Lee and his mates shared a good catch of approximately forty codling up to four pound and a handful of Roker .The weather looks like it may be settling down a bit now so hopefully we can get out and enjoy some good spring fishing.

Thought i better update the situation, as so many trips have been cancelled due to our lovely english weather!Having cancelled the lads again for tomorrow (sat 15th) Feb , hoping to get out Sunday 16th, forcast not too bad. Been keeping up to date with the beach anglers, thank you all for your emails, seems quite a few small codling have appeared this week hopefully the start of a run about time too. The offshore liners when the odd day has allowed have started getting few bass along with skate and reports of millions of dogs! The warm weather this winter has affected our cod fishing but 2 brightsides. Firstly lots of un caught fish out there great for stocks and breeding plus with the sea temperatures possible early skate and dogs next month on the inshore marks. This year we have been asked to arrange some specialist trips ie tope and bass, will email our database so if your not on, send your email address to us for information , basically you get it before the website. So hopefully this weather will start breaking, this strong SW jetstream cant last forever. If we get our spring codling run this year it should prove to be good hopefully, we will be doing a bit of distance to the banks if weather allows in search of those skate and bigger cod. Would be pleased to see you, dont forget already days booked up for summer wrecking with best dates going fast, dont leave it as they will be gone.Wherever your fishing beach or boat ,tight lines from the High Flyer.

Delay for the Home Coming of Vanishing Point-2 to Bradwell Essex
View Boats Page
Hi guys, Just a quick up-date on Vanishing Point-2’s arrival in our home port of Bradwell Essex..!!
Due to the huge Atlantic storms we are experiencing at the moment, with no sign of a let up in sight, it now looks as though VP-2 will not now arrive until early to mid-April, sorry about that!! But we have no control over the weather, and Vanishing Point is too big to transport by road, (shame really)..
A huge thank you to all of you who have been inundating us with phone calls, not only too try and book our new boat, but kindly phoning to see how Nicola & I are keeping, which is really kind off you all, which shows to us, you’re not just our customers, but our friends, which is very special to us both.
Ok…! With the Walton’s bit out of the way…lol we hope to start taking your booking from April onwards, but with the delays in getting VP-2 home to Essex because of weather, you can now understand why I was reluctant to take your booking back in January, because I kind of thought the weather would play a major role in getting her back from the Irish sea…
See you all very soon
