    Report on-board PLAN B

Fished Friday / Sat and Sunday and what a contrast..
Friday was slow - very hot and muggy - the fishing only picked up when we managed a nice lot of hermits in the drop net. This got the smoothounds interested and resulted in numerous fish in the 7-9lb bracket. We tried for skate with fish baits during the slacker tide but did not get one. On the return to port, I spotted birds working a distant sand bank.. we feathered for about an hour and managed around 70 bass. Brilliant fun and made up for the slow day.
Saturday was a fresher day and the fishing was good from the off with loads of hounds and also skate, nearly every fish caught on hermit.. I tried with peeler and did not get a bite and changed to hermit and had a hound in 30 seconds. Looked for the bass again, but did not see one !!
Sunday was a total write off - strong SW winds kept us close to home but I thought we would still manage to catch the skate and bass on the banks.. how wrong can you be. We were top boat on the day with one eel and 4 school bass.. lets see what next weekend brings.

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Had a few computer issues over last couple of weeks so apoligies for lack of reports. Just thought bring you up to date with whats been occuring. Finally last week the water started to clear so mackerel are appearing catching in numbers bit on the small side unfortunately. Had a nice bass just under 9lb last week, plenty of reasonable smoothounds when the tide gets going, the spotted dogs seemed to have moved offshore a bit now. Plenty of dabs still, looking forward to starting few evening trips soon as weather has improved, email me to get on our database so you get the information first hand. The wrecking has been hard work so far seems to be same all over having fished myself off Whitby this week, might just be one of those years. Those wanting to wreck this year be aware worst ive known it for a long while. on a good note the sandeels have been prolific as well as the weavers! Lets hope the winter this year proves well, still catching those whitting on the feathers and hopefully as the cod have been scarce so far leaves more to catch when it gets cold with a bit of luck? Well hope to see you all soon back on again computer wise ,will be reporting back after this weeks huge spring tides, leave you with a picture of yours truly with a 15lb ling i caught this week up north on the Cheiften Charter Boat from Whitby. Yes i go away for a break and go fishing!

  • 21/07/2013 Fishing Report by Nigel Storey on Sunbeam III (Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk)

21 Jul 2013 by Nigel Storey

    Report on-board Sunbeam III

Sun 21/07 - nice fresh start to the morning with a full boat of 10 very enthusiastic characters out on the full day trip, steamed out to our mark and anchored up- found bait in no time and hence put some lines out for tope- wasn't long until we had our first run- within 15 minutes and a second to go with it, two of the younger lads took these fish, only landed one the other breaking off within a few yards of the boat which was a shame, nice first fish and a great start to the day, we got reset and put the lines back out we had a steady run of fish throughout the day 7 tope in all and 3 lost - shame we couldn't get every one a fish but I know some boats are struggling and only picking up one per trip.... All in all a really great bunch of lads who really enjoyed their day- and so did we - plenty of laughs and good humor - this is why we do what we do --- following this we had 9 on the mackerel trip which produced over 60 mackerel - I told you we'd catch back up with them - all in all a successful day - HAPPY DAYS :)

    Report on-board DAWN TIDE II

    July 2013

Good fishing around slower on small tide but good for tope. Plenty of bass around especially when we find the birds working lots of mackerel too. Hound fishing is great fun when targeted can hit over 80 at times few roakar still coming out but personally hound and bass fishing is the best at the moment
