Super day out with Cliff and co. Despite a slowish start, Cliff broke the silence with a cracking 13lb 12oz Cod which was followed by a couple of Skate and several Whiting and dogfish around the other anglers on the boat.
We moved on slack water to chase a few more Cod on the Ebb and the move proved successful getting a further 6 cod to 9lb 12oz and 7 more Thornbacks, including a 13lb 12oz fish to Cliff (again). Last knockings and Michael who had had a couple of 6lb Cod latched into a very large Ray that found its freedom by breaking the main line!!!!!!!!!
Cracking day, thanks chaps, see you in a few weeks!

What a lovely weekend .. Weather was spot on with light wind and glorious sunshine. Fishing showed first signs that summer is on the way. We caught some nice Roker (thornback rays)and loads and loads of whiting. This weekend we will go to the normal spring thornback hotspots and hope they come in as large numbers as last year.. we averaged 30 a trip.
Remember to use at least a 40lb trace as the thornbacks grind the line and one of the anglers on the boat next to me found out the hard way seeing a nice double lost at the net when his trace snapped. Also check the trace regularly for damage as when the line is under strain it will snap... View Boats Page

What a cracking day!! On their 3rd trip on board Amino, Derek and Graham were not only blessed with a flat calm sea and some early sunshine but also some good sport! 8lb Thornback for Graham(new pb) first cast was followed by a succession of similar sized fish along with Whiting to 1lb+ on the flood. As the tide turned and the ebb eased a few more Thornbacks showed up along with Cod to 6lb.At the death, Derek latched into a good fish and after some heavy persuasion up it popped and into the net went a 15lb Thornback, a pb for derek and new boat record!!Final tally for the two anglers was 12 Thornback, 5 Cod, plenty of Whiting and unfortunately a few Doggies! Super day, well done chaps! :-)

First trip on High Flyer, really enjoyable, great skipper and first time had bacon rolls cooked for lunch and chocolate biscuits for desert not to mention tea and biscuits throughout the day. Just a shame about the weather but can’t blame him for that. Looking forward to next trip better weather, more fish and for cos another bacon roll. Cheers Jon tight lines.

After a previous day of torrential rain was glad of the forcast of light westerlys, so headed north today to see if any early bass are making a show from a little favourite mark of mine which generally produces in the early start of the expected run. Unfortunately the weather beat us totally unexpected ,the wind swung north, then north easterly forcing us to retreat inshore and hide in the shelter of the roads. Picked up whiting most of the day, quite a few keepers, only one dab, small codling, and a very large weever! Big thanks to Derek for arranging the trip, Dennis,Chris,Dave,Ian,Dave,Brian with Jay and Josh our two young anglers pictured with a few whiting. Good to see youngsters aboard well done lads. Hope to see you all again. Jon.

This report is for 3 trips 16/17/18/03/2012,Friday was a whiting day with no cod showing for the boys from sizewell started out side the e/new then finished up inside the stanford when the weather blew up but only whiting better luck next time,Saturdays forcast was poor so i decided to fish the n/roads a few whiting on the ebb and plenty of weed and rain the flood fished a bit better with 3 cod showing the best was 4.5lb going to Ray one went back,sundays forcast was a mix so i put the boys on a mark outside the s/holm clear of weed plenty of whiting on the ebb when the tide started to flood we had two cod on the boat in 15 minutes the best was a tage under 6lb nice fish for Guy,see you all again soon Brian/Paul.

Codling to 5lb are still about and some very good Whiting have shown up again-some upto 2lb+. Along with these, the Thornbacks have started to show themselves with most fish between 4 and 9lb.
Hopefully the numbers of Cod will increase (if we are to have a spring run) and over the last couple of years, late March and April have produced some of our biggest fish although these tend to be slightly further offshore, with greater numbers of smaller fish on the inshore marks.

This report is for these three dates 10/11/12/03/2012, Saturday was a lovely day its a shame about the fishing it was very poor with only one 6lb cod caught and a few whiting we had a look outside on the 9 mile area but it was barran so we went south and came back inside to find a few fish sorry boys dont let it put you off its the time of the year when the fish are moving around,Sunday was much the same with a few whiting and one 4lb cod we had a good look around all our favorate marks but it was the same old story, the weather was great it made up for the lack of fish it wont last long these fish are going to be hungry after spawning look out when they return,Monday i made a decision to go to a mark that has been good to us in the past and it did not let me down we had 5 cod on the boat between 5lb and 9lb it was a shame that the boys from Lynn didnot catch but that is fishing,see you all again soon Brian/paul.

WELL WHAT CAN I SAY LOOKS LIKE THE BIG HITS OF COD ARE GONE..THANKS MARTIN AND THE LADS WE TRIED BUT TO NO JOY ..... TIDES WERE SO HOT THE WEIGHTS WERE NOT HOLDING BOTTOM...WE ENED UP WITH A DOGGY AN FEW LITTLE SEA RATS (WY'TING TONG) OOOO WELL BRING ON THE SKATE AN BASS ONLY A COUPLE OF WEEKS AWAY COME ON!!!!!!!
