Report on-board PLAN B
Easter Saturday started nice and fine, so I opted for a lower estuary mark to try for hounds and skate. Found a nice lot of very small hounds and pesky dog fish. Caught a couple of skate but after a couple of moves decided to try another area.. result 13 good skate.. best 11lb.

Easter Sunday, went straight to the spot the 13 skate came and as usual another day another tide and everything changes.. only had 1 skate and at low water although we were getting a fish a cast decided to go to another spot that fished well last year.. result 15 skate.
Easter Monday, although the wind had picked up a bit from the North went back to the same area and caught skate throughout the whole tide steadily, resulting in around 15-20 skate and numerous dogs and good whiting.
Great weekend, great angling, great company... roll on next weekend. All anglers everyday of the weekend had PB's ... -

Report on-board She Likes It Rough 2
The fine settled weather we have been having lately saw Easter weekend being a busy time for us. Fishing was excellent with good numbers of Roker showing up landing well over 40 fish on two trips. Most fish are in the 4-7lb range the biggest this weekend went 11lb with another 2 or 3 just over the 10lb mark, With Fresh frozen Herring and Squid being the top bait for these.

We also saw our first proper Bass of the season with a lovely 8lb 4oz specimen caught by Roger Finbo from Sproughton.
Another sign summer is on its way is the first signs of the Smoothounds turning up. We had 8 over the weekend nothing big the biggest being 6lb once these turn up in nunbers these are great fighting sportfish on the right light tackle set up. -

This Past week or two seems to of been a change over time in the fishing year with the last of the spring run of Codling moving off and Roker and some early bass showing.

Last weekend saw us mainly landing some Roker up to 8lb and a few large Whiting and some spring codling in the 3lb range.
Wednesday’s trip for Trevor’s group saw us fishing the first part of the day for the last of the spring codling. We managed 6 all around the 5- 7lb range, the afternoon was Roker time with 6 Roker landed all in the 5- 9lb Range.
This Weekend saw us land nearly 30 Roker over the two days with Aaron, from the boys at Bidwells property consultants, Landing the biggest of the weekend, nudging the scales to just under 13lb. A good number of the fish were in the 6- 9lb range with a couple of other double figure fish caught and returned. Well done to all you guys who put all the females back and only kept the Male fish.
A Small Bass of around 2 LB was also landed just to show us that the summer species are not that far away. -
