    Report on-board Eastern Promise 2

Fished with Derek on 22/7/10 moved 3 times and once again he found the fish. We ended up with a mixed bag, including Bass to 10 pound plus, Thornbacks to 10 pound, Smoothounds, Doggies, a Surprise Cod for July, Mackerel, Pout and whiting The afternoon more than made up for the slow start in the morning. Several fish kept for the pot. A 10 pound 3oz Bass ended up whole on a birthday BBQ another Bass and several doggies went in a smoker. (The smoked doggie was very popular!!!) Another great day out and 7 happy anglers. Thanks Derek. Note In spite of quality rag and hermits onboard the Bass all took fresh Mackerel or whole frozen squid. Smoothounds fell to fresh mackerel or squid. You never can be sure what Bait to use.

    Report on-board PLAN B

Just a quick update as I am always far too busy to get these done!
Fishing over past month has been superb. Most days we are getting 20-30 hounds mostly around the 5-8lb mark and bass of around 2-3lb.
The last two trips have produced larger bass (due to a change of tactics and trying various baits)... Bass like some wierd combinations!
I have tried to avoid catching Roker (thornback ray) but they still keep coming... They will take anything it seems, Rag and squid cocktail is their favourite at the moment (meant for bass) .. they all seem to be about the same size (about 7LB).
The weed seems to be thining out now, so we should be able to fish the closer marks, so fingers crossed the big bass should start to show from now on...

18/july/2010 An early start proved that fishing the end of the tides when they are on the springs is a must as you can see from the photos,we left the moorings at 7.00am 2&1/2 hours before the bottom of the ebb heading for wpt194 by 8.30am we had got 2 rooker & 1 s/hound with the weather not to bad a gentle s/west f/3 by 10.00am the wind had strengthand to f5--f6 by then we had 5 rooker the biggest being 8lb well done Les, Anton had 3 coming in around the 4lb---7lb and Rab had 2 respectable s/hounds 1 more rooker came before i decided to pull the plug and make our way back this was a good call as the wind made it very lumpy,a great short trip with great company.

14/july/2010,another great days fishing from Lowestofts top angling boat, big tides this week have only allowed us to fish short trips going out 2hrs before h/w and fishing till the tide started race back on the ebb it is the fairest way to treat people i will not take your money for a whole day when i now that you will not be able to fish for only half a day,John and his family had a very good half day today, with 5 nice rooker to 8lb and 4 s/hounds to 6lb some lovely fish with some of the rooker holding them selfs firmly on the bottem and given a good account of them selfs coming to the boat, the best fishing was 30mins before h/w thanks for all your continued support, and a big thankyou for Ashly and his mates for the CD we will try and put it on this web page,Brian/Paul.
