Report on-board Galloper
As always it was great to see Jon and the lads the other day. Just over a week since I'd seen them last but this time it was in Essex chasing bass rather than Devon chasing tuna.
View Boats Page
The fishing didn't disappoint and the lads had steady fishing with a mixed stamp of bass throughout the day. 10-15 bass each and some on lures too.
The weather wasn't bad either as you can see.
I've got spaces on general trips and offshore bass trips this week and beyond if you want to join us.

Report on-board Galloper
We've been very busy since our return from Devon and Cornwall. The offshore bass fishing hasn't disappointed and was definitely worth coming back for. We had a wild trip out there the other day and there were fish of all sizes coming out. We only fished the first mark until 12.30 and the lads had an average of 10 bass each and had achieved their bag limit of 2 keepers each within the first couple of hours.
View Boats Page
Steve was on fire and had the biggest fish which went 8.3lb.
Inshore there's loads of life. Mostly dogfish and whiting to keep us busy but if you fish through them we've had a few bass here too along with thornback rays and even a conger eel.
I have availability for individuals and boat bookings over the coming weeks.

That's us finished at Plymouth now. It's been great fun down here the last few weeks. The weather has been kind to us, the fish have been amazing and the people have made it. Thanks to those who joined us this year for your support. You will get first refusal on next year's dates. Thanks to those who helped me set the boat up, and cart everything around. Stephen Charles particularly as well as Steve canham, Martin and dad.

Also thanks to the locals who made us feel very welcome you were all very approachable and friendly.
I've got dropped the hammers on The Galloper and we're currently heading back to Essex to make the most of the autumn bass fishing.
Stacey and the boys have gone ahead of me so I can't wait to see them soon.
I also owe Stacey a big thanks for letting us spend a fortune, drag her and the boys across the country to satisfy my obsession with fish.
Now for the long steam home. Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast!UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Galloper

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Bringing us up to date reasonably pleased with our summer season nice run of tope towards end of summer, bit thin on the ground for bass for us this year to be honest. At moment were all hoping for a bit of cold weather to bring any cod in already started with the whiting coming in still getting doggies and odd thornback. Got few new methods to try this year and few new baits on calmer winter days want to experiment if we can in deeper water willing to try anything. Few new amendments to the boat have added front splash guard to minimize spray seems to be working. New comfortable back seats seem to be popular! Finally the scotty rod holder parts have arrived from USA so all tip top condition. Our new rods arrive shortly so be pleased to have them. All we need now is fish and yourselves! Please get your name down for those weekend dates dont leave it till last minute we will be full especially boat bookings. Operating the deposit system now due to constant letdowns do not be offended just unfortunate way people seem to be nowdays cant operate a business on peoples word like the old days such a pity. So looking forward to winter comes see us will do our best for you.

What's been happening. Well this year has been exceptionally busy for BRAVEHEARTII and have had a waiting list for angler's wanting to book certain days and tides so I must be doing something right. Dispite the Unseasonably dodgy weather
View Boats Page
the fishing has been good with a good stamp of bass early on in the spring that are still hanging around in all the usual marks, until the water temperature drops. As I stated previously weed has proven to be challenging at times but once we can get away from it bang it all kicks off......bass are shoaling up on the banks and are normally there all year as 15 or more years ago i used to head out there in the summer with good results but I find the inshore fishing can be just as productive at this time of year.
The Hound fishing has been good but again because of the weed we haven't been able to fish the normal marks which had forced us to look elsewhere with good results. As ever I am hopeful that if the water temperature drops sufficiently over Christmas and the new year we will see a few codling of the N Essex coast! One can but live in hope. We had a codling off a wreck in June during a boat fishing comp with 80 odd boats and the angler won a prize for special catch ....( a couple of rods and various terminal tackle).
Looking to wrap up in November and lift the boat for it's new 5 year coding.
Remember we cater for small parties between 3 and 7 and I've kept the boat affordable for this reason. I have purposely shyed away from a cat etc as I don't want to lose these smaller parties but you never know if the right boat came up I might be tempted.
As always I'm grateful for all the support I've had off my regulars and have made many new friends this year.
I look forward to welcoming you aboard for the remainder of this year and next season
All the best &
Tight lines Phil Browning -

Just a quick update, the tuna fishing continues to be great down here in Plymouth. We have fished a variety of conditions over the last week to put it lightly but the tuna have been obliging regardless. Everyone who has fished for tuna aboard galloper has now caught a tuna if not several which is all I can ask for. With the amount of fish showing we should be able to keep this up too.

I have individual spaces and possibly room for a boat booking this week aboard galloper from Plymouth yacht haven marina.

The Autumn Bass fishing!!
View Boats Page
As predicted & as the area is well known for the bass fishing has absolutely exploded!!
Cracking stamp of fish most around 4-5lb with some better ones amongst the mega shoals
I will be targeting bass offshore as much as physically possible until Christmas so plenty of time!
We will mainly target bass using the lure & live bait methods with some Bait fishing on the right tides too!
We will have to push further offshore for the better stamp of fish thats because the bass shoal up & head off so we will follow!
Take a look at my previous autumn hauls i think you’ll be shocked, It can be truly amazing too see 100s of very good size bass coming over the rails every cast!!
Availability is limited but contact me on
07523 488290 & il do my best to get you on & among the fish!
Thanks everyone
