Report on-board PLAN B
December has been a tough month. The snow and spratts in the river have just about killed it at the moment.. We have had to scale down and try for the less targetted species such as Dabs.
I will start looking for skate next month and hopefully the cod will return to normal feeding when the spratts disappear. Best bait to use at the moment is black lug - the older and smellier the better.. don't know why but the Dabs love it...View Boats Page

Another weekend has passed with mixed results.. Cod are showing but still patchy. We got a few each trip last week, but they are not in the numbers we had last year.
Still plenty of whiting and dogs keeping the rods nodding but the skate seem to have disappeared again.
This cold snap will either make or break the autumn / Winter season.. only time will tell.
Looking forward to the weekend, with two regular groups, just hope the weather is kind.View Boats Page

The fishing over the last week started off well with around 25 CODLING a trip with good bags of WHITING and we are still catching some THORNBACKS, AS the week went on and the tempreature took a dive the fishing dropped off, The fishing should pick up over the next few weeks as the water tempreature is a bit more constaint.

The fishing has picked up since my last report, We are getting some good double figure COD and THORNBACKS, The WHITING are still around in good numbers but there are still some days when you just can't find COD ????? We are starting to get some good numbers of CODLING and this means that they will stay around after Christmas and by then should put on some extra weight.

Report on-board PLAN B
After all the wind during the past week, I thought the river would be alive with cod... It is alive, but with Skate and whiting and dogs.
Codling are about but still not the large numbers we are hoping to see...
The lovely flat calm conditions have made it a pleasure to be out on the river this weekend..
Best fish we had was this 10.8 Skate (one of 6 caught on Sunday) plus some codling and god knows how many whiting and dogs, plus a few welcome dabs.View Boats Page
