Well first charter out the way today, big tides, 21 mph Easterly it was not our finest hour I am sad to report....We had a few Ray's this morning, Doggies by the bucket, and some Whiting, but sadly we didn't see any Codling, we tried hard but it sounded like most boats struggled and it wasn't just us, but still a hard pill to swallow when we normally do so well, but I think I should report bad days as well as the good ones, fortunately we don't have to many bad days..... sorry guys I did my best but cant control the weather...!! Tight lines..!!!!

Well, back from holiday now, and looking forward to our charter tomorrow, with such big spring tides that should flush some more Cod in, we were already getting around a dozen per trip before we went on holiday, so we should find a few more out there...??? let you know in a day or two..!!

We have a Bass trip on Monday, so with the big tides we have up until Tuesday we may get lucky with some of the larger fish that swim in our waters before leaving at this time of year, but it's not been the best year for big Bass I have to say, but you have to be in it to win it so to say..!!!
Well as nice as the holiday was, it's also nice to be back to start fishing once again, I have just been down to the boat to check all is well there, and rig all the rods ready for tomorrow...."I think I get as excited as the party"
but all is well and ready for the off in the morning, so until then.........
Tight Lines...!!!! -

Looks like the drop in temperature has started bringing in the winter species.

Loads of whiting are stripping fish baits meant for skate and huge numbers of dogfish have moved up river.
The better set of tides this weekend should give us a chance to look farther afield , fingers crossed the weather is kind. -

Well guys, Nic and I are off tomorrow for a nice cruise for 12 days, a welcome rest after 5 years of being away from home and all our friends, and fishing buddies, working bloody hard in the Irish sea to come home with all our dreams fulfilled, and a cracking boat all paid for, house paid off and a little cash in the bank, I can tell you that we endured a lot of sleepless nights, worries ,and faced the unknown as we were entering into a field of work-boat operations we had never been involved it before, but Nicola had total faith in me, and I must admit rightly or wrongly, I don't suffer from self doubt,...!! happily it all turned out fine, and now we are back charter fishing, and that is what we have always enjoyed and couldn't wait to come back to, and we are so grateful to all our fishing parties that have welcomed us back, and are once again sailing with us.... Nicola and I cant thank you all enough.... and now we are taking a well earned break, but looking forward to getting back to it once we return.... so Tight lines to you all.. By the way....."I wear the trousers" just don,t tell Nic....

Hi all, just to confirm we are now back on this site. The reason we left was the amount of withheld numbers or dropped calls and when we tried to ring back the phone would be switched off or on answer machine. Since going off site ( as such ) we found out who it was and this has now been dealt with. Many thanks for all our old clubs and some of our new members for being patient. our own website was still running but we had a intercept on the site which found and stopped us getting the nuisance calls and emails. Once again thank you for bearing with our problems, cheers Trev / Matt

The last few days have seen an influx of cod to all areas with a good showing of cracking fish between 4-5 lb. These fish are really early so should be our best season for a long time. Tight lines. -

We did it again…!!!!!

Monday 7/9/15
I had a group of anglers from Newmarket and they arrived on Vanishing Point-2 at 0730, we were all ready for them, so within a few minutes the ropes were cast off, and we were on our way once again to the prolific offshore mark that fished so well yesterday (although we couldn’t fish it for the first 2 hours yesterday due to conditions) but today we were determined to hit our mark 26 miles out from Bradwell for the first of the ebb..!!
Once we arrived on the mark, it was a little on the swelly side but no problem to our huge cat..!!! So once the anchor went down, lines were cast out, and within 2 minutes Mike had a lovely fish on, so quick in fact some of the others hadn’t even cast in..!!!! What…!!!!!!!!! They had a quid for the first fish, so that fish was null and void.
After about 6 or 7 minutes we had a double hook up, one fish 12 lbs, and another 9 lbs, and it just didn’t stop all day..!! I don’t know exactly how many Skate were caught today??? Somewhere between 55 and 60 really good fish, many around the 10 lbs mark I would say, they kept around 18 fish, and some of the larger dog fish, but returned a lot of fish to the water alive..!!! great fishing, by great fishermen, some for the table, and many returned to fight another day… well done chaps really good day, hope we see you all again soon..
