    Report on-board High Flyer 2

This report brings up to date to 7th June, been bit testing with the wind as usual and still water bit on the cold side! Still catching few codling right inshore and whiting stripping the baits at slack cant wait to get offshore soon as we get a window. Few bass turning up for us now biggest so far only 6lb but hopefully soon out on the banks with live eel will improve the situation water starting to clear so wont be long. As you can see by the pictures few skate inshore not in great numbers but still plenty time for them still normally when the hermits in the pots seems to best skate time for us. The big smoothies seem to be in and out depending on the tide, plenty of small spotties everywhere generally. Waiting to test the feathers this week for mackerel and out on the banks for tope just being held back by this north easterly at moment. Picture here of Paul Layton with 5lb bass second fish for Paul. Remember size limit now 42cm with a 3 fish bag only per rod per day now lots of anglers unaware that come on the boat. So looking forward to weather breaking soon getting offshore bit of wrecking , start of the evening trips too, mackerel bashing and a bit of sun! Until then tight lines everyone.

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

This report covers the weekend of 23rd/ 24th/25th May, bank holiday, the weather not been kind at all the wind unfortunately stopping all offshore work. We had to work around the tides this weekend and basically make the most of it so big thank you and well done to all my customers every fish was well earned. Apart from the heavy downpours sunday we managed a dry monday but the light winds forcast was not to be. Fished north of the turbines Sat had few decent smoothies and doggies most of the day, Sun was quite poor fish size wise but had a few codling thrown in , only small smoothies today showing up but ended up home early with everyone soaking wet not a great day. Mon was better still bit blowy to go offshore so fished off Lowestoft front with a reasonable day few nice bass pictured here , no skate or cod today plenty of pin whiting still proving a pain. Big thanks to all the anglers on High Flyer this bank holiday weekend, nice to see few new faces as well, bit of a hard one but enjoyable all the same, looking forward to being of service again soon, until then tight lines everyone. Report on-board High Flyer 2

Strong tides today all play had to be inshore in the shallower water , decided to try little mark i use for some skate as tide eased but they let me down! Unfortunately doggies were on the menu today from here and a few smoothies and we wont mention the double whiting hookup by Karl. Stayed till the tide was right on slack, the wind decided to increase a bit making few rollers appear not that great so headed north for a bit of shelter up the top end near Caister . Again more doggies nothing else but, by now the strong tide racing through was job to hold bottom so moved again and hid up in ley of the outer harbour which paid off. Few more fish again still the same species with a welcome flatty thrown in. As tide eased headed back to our spot to catch yes you guessed more dogs and smoothies! Was an enjoyable day though we worked around the tide and managed to hold our own in the wind and got reasonable day in.Lads pictured here with there keepers from the day nice little meal the spotty dogs people forget that. Few new faces on the Flyer today thanks to Ethan and grandad David, and Martin all first timers and regulars Lee, Karl, Trevor and Dave for crewing. Look forward to our next session where i hope we dont catch a single dogfish! All the best. Jon.( High Flyer.)

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Cracking start to the day weather wise forcast light wind sun was out with calm seas pleasure just to be out. Makes a change from the last few trips! Due to the tide time decided to fish straight away inshore a little hole i use here and there off the channel hoping for few skate. Was bit of a slow start with few doggies coming aboard, then one codling appeared only one of the day. as tide weakened our luck changed ended up with 3 rokers more dogs and few smoothounds and couple of dreaded whiting. The wind picked up slightly NE nothing major , clouded over too so decided on the start of the flood to head north up the turbines. Paid off with doggies and smoothies from the start but after a hour the deeper water was a bit hard to hold bottom so came right inshore to another hole i use in the summer. Biggest fish of the day fell to Jonsey pictured here with 8lb smoothy nice start to the season, was a good day in all with fish pretty constant throughout the day to be honest. Big thanks to all the lads was a most enjoyable day most first time on the High Flyer, looking forward to seeing you all again at some point. Until then all the best. Jon. (High Flyer)

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Todays trip started well winds being same as forcast light southerly
so decided to head to a 4 mile bass spot as armed with fresh rag and
few peelers. Within 5 mins our first bass of the season came in which
was pleasing was thinking this is going to be a good day. Wasnt long
till the wind picked up turned SE waves got bit naughty so had to head
in. Had few doggie and smoothies from the mark too in all not bad for
an hours fishing. Moved inshore still too lumpy inside so only option
was to hide up right on the beach behind the outer harbour thats how
lumpy it had become, full marks to everyone as we had young ones on
board . Had nice mixed bag in all few keepers pictured here with some
of Barrys team on the wall back home due to the weather! Got away with
the day in the end ,few in the bag for tea and everyone safe was
enjoyable day apart from me spilling every cup of tea i made! British
weather hey. Thanks again to Barry for organising another day looking
forward to next months trip. Cheers. Jon. (High Flyer)
