Again spoke to the other boats who also werent having much luck!! Will be trying elsewhere tommorow!!! Will keep you posted!

Sunday 5th August- Tide trip... Headed out to some regular marks to try and find some Mackerel and Bass, very slow this morning... Where have all the fish gone?! Spoke to some other local boats who are also having the same trouble... Landed a few but not as many as we would have liked... Will be trying somewhere different soon if this keeps up!!!

Full day- Left the quay with another 7 customers and went and drifted a mark a few miles from where we Anchor to pick up some nice bait size Mackerel... Landed a handful and went and got anchored up. Had a run within the first 10 minutes and landed the first Tope, nice size at 38lb. Soon after had another run which we managed to get a fair way towards the boat however the fish spat the bait which is always a shame. 2nd fish landed was again a nice fish at 30lb. Went quiet for a while but soon picked back up when the tide eased and landed another fish at 28lb. After this decided to rebait... started pulling one of the rods in to find that all of a sudden the reel screemed off meaning another fish... fought the Tope all the way to the boat, nice energetic fish this one, however unfortunately after going to get it out of the water it shook its head and dived back under the boat and this fish was lost, however we got it to the side of the boat and had good sight of it. LAnded another fish after this a nice 36lb male. Good day had by all, nice fellas, hope to see them again soon! -

Full day drip at 10am took 7 guys out Tope fishing this afternoon lovely flat seas and sunshine too... Got the teas made and no Tope (Very odd... they normally show by now) had the first one around 10 minutes later but unfortunately it spat the bait... not to worry had another run in quick succession seems they are running with the bait and taking their time in eating it... however we landed the first fish which was 30lb and then preceeded to land 3 more... making 4 in total... seems that they are starting to get biger now and most days the bigger fish seem to feed later... biggest today was 43lb... Just waiting for a big female now which normally start showing not long from now... Lovely Fellas hope to see them again some day. Especially Mackerel Mick who's determination for jigging up Mackerel kept us in fresh bait all day - Thanks Fella :) -

Half day tide trip- full boat- picked up a lot of small mackerel to start with all had to go back very quiet on the big mackerel side of things and no bass showing this evening... Picked up a few bigger ones towards the end of the trip which were shared out equally among the customers so everybody took some fish home. -

Tonights evening trip started well wind decreased for us despite a little shower. First off with whitting for Paul, only 3 months early! Nice couple of smoothies came aboard, was expecting skate from this mark, despite all our efforts and various baits it wasnt to be. Went through slack with anoying crabs picking us clean as usual, decided to head inshore off the worm beds but scuppered by another large vessel anchored up right in the middle. Thanks alot! tried for the last few hours on the inshore wreck mark in the Roads but proved difficult even though the fish were on the finder. Big thanks to Paul for organizing the trip, and guests, Donald,Matt,Kev,and Nick, was a enjoyable evening and all agreed better than having to watch eastenders!

Todays trip was strange all round. weather forcast good headed for a favourite mark off the Holm channel, lost a decent fish possibly a tope , wind started to blow unexpectedly! Up anchor and away to little bass mark which has proved well in the past but wind making standing difficult so decided to drift north up the bank armed with every bait imaginable. Even though gulls working the water nothing came aboard so steamed north to a skate mark resulting in a couple,David in the picture here with his first skate. Nice little red gurnard, few flatties and weavers! weather took turn for the worse.Lightening, thunder , big rain the lot, tried Hemsby hole for shelter was no good so headed home. Thanks to lads fom Greene King,Daniel,Ady,Alan(relief skipper)Nick and Tom for organizing, along with Paul,Dave,Ken,richard, and Mike for organizing. Really testing day all round, well done men for putting up with it, much appreciated.
