Although it p'd down with rain, the winds were light and we ventured to a spot I havent fished for a while and what a day it turned out to be...with 3 new PB's for Ernie and Dave.
Bites were plentiful and the fish kept coming and we ended the day with 17 Thornbacks to 11lb (most of which were returned to fight another day), 8 Smoothounds, 2 Bass (both PB's for Ernie and Dave), some Whiting and Doggies. Cracking day chaps, thank you for your continued custom.
Heres the chaps with some of their catch... -

Having set out in view of searching for a few Bass with the big tide today, we headed out to a spot where theres been a few caught recently. Trawlers and nets in the area suggested fish would be there and after a few dogfish and a small whiting, Cliff had what looked like another Doggy bite. Reeling into it, it came to the boat easily and then the rod tip started jagging and a Bass estimated around 8-9lb surfaced at the boat where it promptly dived and shed the hook...:-(
We moved after the next hour didnt produce but with poor visibility we couldnt head off any distance so settled behind a bank where we had a few more Dogs and a Flounder. As visibilty improved and with no Bass showing up we headed offshore further and found some Hounds to 9lb, Doggies, a stray Cod around 5lb and a Pout before Cliff had another bite and hooked into something that started jagging on the rod tip.....
This was the result....a 12lb personal best Bass for Cliff and a new boat record for Amino. Well chuffed. :-)
