What a cracking day!
View Boats Page
Regular customers Derek, Graham and Jim needed an early start so at 6am we met at Shotley and headed straight out and all the rods were fishing by 7.30. A Thornback first cast for Graham and a few Dogfish was an encouraging start and the day just got better from there! :-)
The fog burnt off and the sun came out and so did the fish....we ended the day with near on 20 Thornbacks to 11lb, 13 Cod to 8lb, 7 Smoothounds to 14lb, a couple of Whiting and loadsa Dogs. All we needed to complete things was a Bass but unfortunately they didnt show!
If you are group of upto 5 anglers and are looking for a trip on the East Anglian Coast, give me a call...in the meantime, heres the chaps with some of their catch..... -

Out today with regulars Cliff,Ernie, Michael and Dave and with the forecast looking okay and winds due to drop we headed out. A rough sea state once out at the mark produced a first Thornback for Dave at 10lb, dogfish and odd hound as well as some vomiting and butt clenching for some of the rest of the crew!LOL!

As conditions eased we had a move to another spot which produced very little in the hour we were there so moved offshore to find more tide and colour in the water and this proved successful as the chaps had 10 more (hornbacks to 13lb, Smoothounds to 8lb, Cod to 6lb and more Dogfish! Also lost a couple of decent hounds and Thornies during the afternoon but that's fishing!!
Cracking day chaps, see you again on 2nd June :-) -

Forecast was wrong again today with conditions a bit on the rough side but we managed to get to one of our favorate marks off LT fishing was very slow to begin with two 2/3lb Bertys and a couple of skinny whiting after 4 hours and the presance of a few spottys no Rooker off this mark today,so i decided to shift a bit north and inside the Holm bank not much showing on the sceen and the wind turned again to N/E we droped in to a mark that i havent been to for some time it was a good call we had a nice lot of fish with another 4 Bertys with the best going to Eugene a plump 3.5lb,Peter had a couple of 2/3lb fish off this mark and some nice sized Hounds(good luck with skinning) i had 3 all about the same 2/3lb fish and the last pull in of the day a 4lb Rook, well done you boys see you all again soon,BP.

The grand children have been asking to go for a fishing trip Sunday was looking good so we decided to take all 4 of them, but the wind picked up and made things a bit unplesant for them, the short time we had with them we put to good use they all caught fish which was good the biggest being a 6.5lb cod plenty of dogs and one 5lb rooker lets hope the weather is a bit better next time,Grandad.

Out today with Steve, Andy, Ed and Graham some of whom had never fished the East coast before.

The weather was kind to start and the fish soon started to show with Codling, Thornbacks and our Dog friends providing the action before Ed hooked into something more lively and our first Smoothound of the season came on board. The weather deteriorated late afternoon and we ended up heading back and in to the river looking for some Bass.
Ended the day with 9 Thornbacks to 13lb (a personal best for Andy, pictured), 4 Smoothounds to 7lb, 4 Codling to 3.5lb loads of dogs, 3 small Bass and some Whiting so was a good day for the species ;-)
Well done chaps, hope to see you again soon... -
