sunday 1st july sw wind 4 we left the marine 7 start headed out to the wreck not a bad start 7 half miles a few cod come"n up 1 or two ling around 8lb ath a another move up to 14 miles off shore this wreck had some good cod on up to 15lb around 35 cod and ling for the day,

Wednesday 27 june 2012, Blue line taxi drivers wer out on sapphire 6 oclock start we fished inshore wrecks fish failed to show so decided to move off on to deep water wrecks some 14 miles seen cod and ling to 10lb one guy taken the best catch and the most, Overall for the day was poor out of the 10 anglers, Sapphire was back out for an even trip 5 anglers fished the inshore wrecks on a 4hr trip had cod and ling to 8lb,

Leyland and farington boat angling club, fleetwood. fished on "sapphire" from friday 22 june to sunday 24 june 2012, friday was very poor 10 anglers 2 fish 1 cod 4lb, 1 ling 5lb, S/E wind big seas fish fail to show up, sunday was the better day we had a run off 15miles seen good cod 5lb to 10lb bout 100 maccies the lads went home happy,

Fishing here at Hartlepool this week has been steady away when the weather allows us to get out with some good catches of cod and ling coming aboard
The anglers are using shads or mackeral for bait with some good results the best cod last week was 16lb with the best one over the weekend at 11lb View Boats Page

May Catch Report.
With the wind coming from the North and East the sea has been far from settled with a Northerly swell for the best part of May.
As a result of the unsettled weather it has been a real challenge to get out and when we have managed to get out the clarity of the water has been poor.
Despite the poor start to the season the Civil Service Angling Club fished their qualifying competition out of Amble and Managed to catch 64 Codlings,15 Pouting,6 wrasse,,3 Coalfish and 1 Scorpion fish.
The Competition was a points Competition run under the NFSA rules with all unwanted fish being returned alive. The Three Anglers to Qualify were Chris Wilkinson, John Cuthbertson And Ian Mitchell who will go onto the National final at Milford Haven.
Mark Flowers And his Anglers had a good day with each angler catching 6 codlings on average, Nothing really big but all were a good stamp of fish between 4lb to 6lb.
The biggest Codling in May was 7.5 lb caught by Doug Hutchinson from Carlisle (see photo).
The best Pollock in May was 9lb caught by Jason Hudson (see photo) who also had a Catfish around 5lb View Boats Page

Saturday 16 july 2012, we set off 7 oclock headed south off seaham / h/pool a few inshore wrecks one or two cod showing, before moveing off to deeper water 12 miles again cod showing between 5lb and 8lb and the best one of the day 16lb pounder fell to a local angler, overrall for the day bout 20 cod, Sunday 17 july 2012, fish was on the poor side yet again inshore wrecks finding it very hard to find the cod yet along catch again around 5lb to 8lb, a good pollock of 8lb and a couple of ling to 8lb, bout 20 fish total for day i would say poor,

had a party of anglers over from the kendal area, and although there was a gentle northerly roll still left in the water. fishing continues to be very good with about 100 or so cod being landed. mostly to 4inch blue shads but also baited hookias, tipped with mackrel and squid doing well,loads of whiting coalies and nice mackrel also coming over the gunnels at times non stop action and unable tro touch bottom without being straight into fish. saturday 9 june 2012, 10 anglers we fished 8 wrecks NW wind 5 big sea runing not many fish taken but still some good cod 5lb to 10lb bout 25 for day, sunday 10 june 2012, Was sapphire sunday 9 anglers i decided to have a run off to deeper wrecks good day ahead of us first wreck few cod around 6lb, move"n on the cod still showing one lad had had a 10lb, 14 half miles off the last wreck of the day was by far the best one all rods bending cod come"n up two at a time good cod 10lb, 12lb,one in at 14lb half, the best of the day was 18lb half total for sunday 80 + cod around 40 over 10lb, evey one went home happy,
