Winter COD season is only 7 wks away beginning mid October and runs through till March !! Due to tides we are limited to fish the river Mersey when tides are below 28/5 foot so days and weekends are limited lady Helen has been here taking charters out for almost a year now and we seen and meet lots of new friends many who have fished with us this summer have already book for a COD trip as pics and reports show we are the most up to date charter boat in the north west FACT!!! So to avoid disappointment it's wise to check what dates u have free and book ur COD trip well in advance plenty of wkends availible and discounted mid wk trips if uv never fished the Mersey before it's like nothing else uv fished before 100 yards out the lock and ur on the COD ur easily fishing 9 hours out of the 10 hour trip check out reports and pics from last winter ! Had a call from 5 lads at 9pm Friday night who's trip had been cancelled,asking if we could take them out at last minute,glad to say we help the lads from Manchester and Wigan out weather was very testing today high winds ment very limited fishing marks was to ruff to get out to rock channel so we ended up moving around the river all day wer the lads smashed the Rays for the last couple of hours which was goods news as we had struggled with Ihigh winds but the 5 lads went home happy and have booked with us for Cod trip in October glad to help them out back out 2 mo 8am start weather looks better hopefully get further out hopefully get back on the mackerel and smoothies still plenty of places for next few weeks any 1 interested in a great day out aboard Ladyhelen give me a call or text anytime thanks Lee(Ladyhelen) 07514337195 pics to follow.......

Another great weekend on lady Helen left the marina sat for a 4am start wer we headed to north Hoyle wind farms wer had big numbers of mackerel,whiting,Ray's,Huss gurnard after a very busy few hours we headed back towards home and stop at the Rock channel wer we had smoothounds in good numbers and the biggest fish we had on ladyhelen since we started out a whopping 16/4lb smoothound which was brought on board by skipper Carl, still plenty of places availible over next coming months any1 interested in great day out aboard ladyhelen give me a call or txt anytime thanks lee(ladyhelen)07514337195

The weather has again been upside down for July we can have a day of flat oil like sea,
And then within mins of arriving back into the marina it was blowing 30 kts then the next 3 days would be blown off, then it might drop off for a couple of days then return for a few days well that is the British Summer for you.July started well with a good supply of bait fish,with good catches of Bull Huss,Dogs, Rays and all other species we have had Smoothhounds to 14.8 lbs We have tried to concentrate on the tope but with them being so far off shore the weather has to be favorable When we travel so far we tend to stop off on the way back and have a go for smaller stuff to break the trip up, our Tope trips have produced fish between 36lbs and 50lbs with the most in one day this year being into double figures, although we still have the story of one that was on for over 25mins and lost it 80 mts from the boat never mind thats fishing. Fingers crossed the wind settles.

Another great weekend on ladyhelen sat had 10 novices on board only 1 had ever been fishing before,but that was no problem as the skipper and Phil the wizard were on ball as useual,headed out for a 4am start to the rock channel we we had some nice smooth hounds Ul to 7lb Rays to 7.5lb plenty of doggies and dabs Sunday was 5am start the group on board wanted to catch some mackerel so we headed out on a 2 hour steam to north Hoyle wind farm wer we had mackaral,not in great numbers but a nice few decent eating size also some nice plaice,dabs whitening after a few hours we headed back towards home wer we stoped at the Rock channel wer we had some smoothounds and some nice Ray's all in all another great weekend lady Helen all custermers went home very happy.,,still lots of dates for July and August any 1 fancies a great day aboard lady Helen give me a call or txt anytime thanks lee(ladyhelen) 07514337195
