Report on-board Lady Helen
Sailed with 3 anglers on board, tried a couple of marks with mixed results of small flatties and loads of doggies, so moved to an inshore mark looking for some plaice and better flatties and boy did we find them well over 200 fish mainly nice dads with a dozen or so plaice, so the lads have fish for tea for a few days.

Ross and The Lads,
We arrived at the marina at 5.40am for a 6am lockout with the intentions that we would head offshore and bottom fish, the forecast was for a bit ofwind but then dropping off,so we decided to play safe and head out of the mersey and up the rock and onto burbo bank which we did with a constant wind of 20 knots Wnw. So it was a bit sloppy but still fishable the lads caught plenty of dabs and a couple of flounder with in the hour we where out on the bank. The wind picked upto 27 kts on the way in we came in early and fished the river so as all of the lads could stand up and walk around we fished a mark in the river and caught Cod, Thornback rays, Flounders, Dabs and Whiting. The lesson learnt today is dont let lads come on the boat that have not been to bed and have been on the beer all night and day, as you know it ruins the day and ends up breaking toilet sinks and automatic air fresheners overall though a good bunch of lads well done Sam with the most species and well done Ross with a nice brace of codling
see you soon lads. -

We met at Liverpool marina at 10 am The Sun was high in the sky with no clouds for a change( We could not beleive our luck the forecast was for a big low presure system coming up from the south the following day) So we set off,we agreed to try a mark that produces big Bull huss some 28miles from the marina.
whilst we where travelling i explained that the summer species have not arrived yet, we put this down to the water temperature being down for this time of the year due to the terrible weather we had around easter, we arrived on site to start fishing before everybody had a line in whiting where being pulled over the side, then the occasional Dog fish then the odd Dab and then finally the first Bullhuss of 2013 for Discovery was lifted over the side and welcomed for a change the fish flowed in all day with Neil taking 3 huss to about 9lbs but also losing a bigger one at the back of the boat,Peter who fished consistantly all day eventually was un catchable and won the overall comp. Well done lads wait till the summer species come in.

We left the marina at 6am to be greeted with sun and no wind, so we set off to a mark some 25 miles away,
tea, coffee, and breakfast was hastly finished as we arrived to our first mark,(rough ground) we had agreed that we would keep a record of everybodies catch, and give points for certain species,we caught mostly whiting at this mark and moved on to another mark ,where we had whiting.pouting, poorcod, ling, dabs, ballan wrasse, cod, dogfish, and the first person on Discovery to catch a scollop(Vicky from the IOM) We did accuse her of bringing it over with her,Paul D had a nice ling of 5lbs 2oz and Mark D had a nice Wrasse2lbs.
Still no mackerel, overall a good day with paul d taking the prize, things will get better when the mackerel make a show. Gary Skipper.

Vidas trip, We where meant to be going offshore today but with a strong wind warning , I offered the lads the chance to blow the trip off as we would only be able to flattie fish or catch the occasional thornback ray,
Vidas just wanted to fish so we set of up the channel catching Dabs, So to give the lads a change we moved into the river and managed to pick more dabs, and flounders,1 plaice and a Cod of 4lb 9oz.
Well done lads, Gary (skipper) -
