Thank Goodness for April arriving with some good trips so far and the arrival of Smoothounds in numbers and the first Bream just showing now.
Over the school holidays I had a few trips with special prices for youngsters, as normal the girls caught the most!
Last week most trips were about introducing new anglers to the delights of the hard fighting smoothounds, these early fish are averaging 6lbs and they really do go! BUT the bigger females will be in soon too, with fish up to 30lb it is superb sport, OFTEN on FREE BAIT!
The BIG BREAM are here now too so all we need is for the weather to hold.
As a new skipper I still have many days available and have updated my schedule, so please ring for info or just a chat.
I can also pick anglers up in Portsmouth camber.

By morning the wind had calmed and we fished a number of marks, catching fish on all of them, ending the day with around 25 Codling to 9lb, 3 Thornbacks to 10lb and some quality Whiting. Most fish caught on lug squid cocktail. -

Another trip with Len Hoopers group from Maidstone in Kent. After a slow start we got into the Skate and Codling and ended up with a reasonable catch. The best bait combo was lugworm herring or squid cocktails. The codling were crammed with crab, a good sign that the Sprats are thinning out. A fine day out with that summers coming feel ! -

Lee and Paul had a good day today 14th Feb with a catch of Codling to 7lb and 10 Thornback Ray to 11lb. All the female Rays were returned. The fish were taken on lug and squid or lug and herring cocktails from a mark off Margate. Sprats are thinning out. So it looks good for the spring codling run.

Good Cod fishing at the moment with fish up to 10lb along with Thornback Rays to 12lb. Expect some big Cod from now that will be following the Spratts, we have had a good run of Whiting this winter and they should stay around for a while yet. We should get some large Spurdogs around the new year and Thornbacks arrive in numbers in January. Dont forget the spring Cod run, should be good from February through to April. You wont catch anything sat at home surfing the web so come on down there's space available!
