  • 04/2018 Fishing Report by Barry Ratcliff on Nova Stella. (Isle of Sheppey, Kent)

    Apr 2018 by Barry Ratcliff

    Report on-board Nova Stella.

After a long spell of unsettled weather and fresh cold water in the estuary things are finally looking good now with the arrival of the rays. I've had a few days drifting on the herrings so I can offer these on the day for prime baits. If temperatures remain on the up it will only be a couple of weeks before the first run of small hounds start.
I will take this opportunity to wish you all tight lines and rodbenders. BAZ..

As the weather slowly warms up the fish are arriving, all be it reluctantly. We headed north today beginning the day on the edge of a channel hoping for a Cod, March and April were the best months for spring Codling. We gave it an hour catching a few Whiting and a Skate. We then moved out to the banks and had a super day on the Skate landing another 17 fish to 10lb, many of which were released. Jake and Darren enjoyed the day vowing to return in May. Plenty of dates available to join us whether an individual or group wanting to book the boat. Ring me on 07715050851 to book your place.

    Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3

We haven't reported for a little while, but now after being out of the water for 6 weeks for some maintenance we are up and running again.

We are back in and have done a couple of good wrecking trips.

We have had some nice double figured Pollock showing on the deep wrecks. We have also had some early Plaice showing on the inshore marks as well.

We are looking forward to some good spring weather and some good fishing.

  • 08/02/2018 Fishing Report by Les Jones on White Maiden II (Lymington, Hampshire)

8 Feb 2018 by Les Jones

    Report on-board White Maiden II

If you like a lot of weight on your rod then this was the trip to be on. On Thursday I rounded a crew of hopefuls that were on standby. We were fishing in a small tide which meant the lead weights never went over a pound but the fish were feeding extremely well. And they were all big and weighty. Nearly all of them went back to do their spring thing. Peter Hellyar caught a superb 29lb specimen Blonde Ray, a feisty 38lb Conger, a specimen 10lb 2oz Bass and a 10lb Thornback plus Whiting and more Congers. All these fish were returned except for the small Whiting which made very good live baits. Ian Hewett caught this lovely 17lb Undulate Ray plus a 12lb Blonde Ray and Congers. Mike Callus caught the cracking 23lb Blonde Ray and a 30lb Conger plus another Blonde Ray and smaller Congers. Devon caught the first and best Small Eyed Ray at around 7lb. There were also more Whiting, Eels and Rays caught by the rest of the crew. I was pretty knackered at the end of it because of all the weight lifting plus the sea state continued to build gradually throughout the day, before we made a run for the Solent to finish off in comfort.

  • 03/02/2018 Fishing Report by Bob Marshall on Duke IV (Ramsgate, Kent)

3 Feb 2018 by Bob Marshall

    Report on-board Duke IV

As the days are getting longer, spring is coming bringing plenty of fish our way or so we hope. Skate fishing is improving with some good fish showing and we are looking for Spurdog that run through the channel early spring. So far this winter the Cod have been thin on the ground but we are still hoping, should l say praying for some sort of a spring Codling run as we used to get not many years ago. Still plenty of dates available including weekends available so give me a call and come along fishing.

  • 12/2017 Fishing Report by Rob Hickin on Sea-Juicer (Portsmouth, Hampshire)

    Dec 2017 by Rob Hickin

    Report on-board Sea-Juicer

A wet & Windy Few Months so many trips cancelled

Cod fishing the poorest for many years but the ones we managed to land were nice size fish along with good double figure Pollack & lots of congers to 30lb . The whiting didnt let the fishing Down with plenty of fish up to the 3lb Mark so it wasn't all bad

The boat Cod Pool only reached £440 this year but a fine 16lb -8oz Fish For Garry Rickards took 1st place .

Hopefully will get out on a few more dates in January but this will focus mainly on whiting inshore & Spurs & bull Huss off Shore

I have spaces for Individuals on dates this month ( See Calendar )

If you're interested please give me a call or text on 07919 102069

    Happy New Year
    Rob
