Fishing Report by Gareth John
on Hurricane (Isle of Sheppey, Kent)
Jun 2017 by Gareth John
Report on-board Hurricane
spring and summer have arrived along with some nice catches of smoothounds and skate .
View Boats Page
we had a bonanza on the skate in early May when huge numbers arrived inshore we recorded catches of up to 100 in a day but they have now spread out a bit and made way for the hounds which is what summer is all about in the estuary.
plenty off bass around and large shoals showing on the fishfinder and birds diving are a good indicator .
feathering produces lots of small bass which is fun but all go back to swim away.
mackerel expected soon and from the 1st July we can retain 1 per angler
some huge hounds about and the females are heavy with pup so a chance of a record breaker is out there somewhere.
the recent charity competition for Demelza was a great day with the largest skate being recorded from my boat
and 21 boats and 96 anglers taking part in what will now become an annual event. -

Report on-board Brigand
Cracking day out with Nolan and his team yesterday. Plan was to do some inshore work and snaffle a few Bream and Plaice. As the tide built the Bream came on and they had some beauties with great sport on light gear.
View Boats Page
An easing tide reduced catch rate so we headed off to a wreck to get a big bend in those rods - after a few hours on the Bream very interesting watching an angler get hit by a double figure Polloock repeatedly diving for the wreck! Used slack to travel and complete final part of he order managing to boat plenty of Plaice in the final hour...... great day, great company, great fish - job done!
Best wishes

Fishing Report by Tabish Aiman
on Ocean Warrior 3 (Brighton, East Sussex)

Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3
Another cracking day aboard Ocean Warrior 3. Since the move to Brighton from Newhaven, Dave now has access to the Bream grounds at Kingmere.
View Boats Page
Our range group was able to take full advantage of this on father’s day with multiple 3lb+ bream. After we lost the tide, Dave moved on to another mark where we drifted and caught plaice and undulate.
Though the trip was to be a wrecking trip, Dave let us know that the wrecks weren’t producing well yet and we were better off on the Bream. Great to see a skipper actively helping anglers get on the fish rather than take the money for a wrecking trip..... -

Fishing Report by Bob Marshall
on Duke IV (Ramsgate, Kent)
10 Jun 2017 by Bob Marshall
Report on-board Duke IV
As the water warms and clears the fishing has been reliable with plenty of Skate with good shoals of Bass when the water drops clear. Also the Smoothound fishing has been good with plenty one day and none the next. Herring remains the best bait with lugworm catching all species. Mackerel have started showing to feathers although again can't be relied upon for bait. Fergus enjoyed showing all how to catch fish including the Hound pictured that took a liking to a herring chunk. Plenty of space available on Duke lV weekdays and still spaces available for individuals on 24thJune.
