Still plenty of Skate around, we have caught 13 for now and just half way through the day, still herring is the favourite bait for them but as peeler crab numbers increase more Smoothounds will be caught. Great fighting fish are Hounds so a fine days fishing with a good mix of fish with Bass and Mackerel to the right bait. Also being caught recently Plaice and the odd Turbot ps we ended the day with 26 Skate Whiting and Dabs. Pic shows Paul group with part of today's catch

SUMMER FISHING kicking off now with the arrival of the hounds on the rough ground ,still lots of rokers mixed in along with whitings ,dogs and the odd gurnard.

Fishing was hard today, big tide and a swell in the sea from the day before, we visited a number of wrecks which were all fishing slow, but by the end of the day we managed to boat some pollock and the first cod of the year, would like to thank all the anglers for there effort to bring fish abroad.

Weather was great for a spot of bream fishing ,with the flood tide and light wind together we were full of hope ,The fish Started of feeding very well with fish to 2.5lb landed ,but as the tide changed the fishing tailed off with the afternoon being a wash out for bream .We found a few thornbacks on a near by sand bank and the usual dogs ,the first mackerel and a couple of hounds >but the main thing is the bream are there to be caught so give it a go light tackle ,small leads and shallow water .What could be better ? This sunday fishing picked up with quite a few pollock being caught all male fish up to 11b hen fish are still absent I think due to spawning. The fishing will then pick up when spawning is over

Lance Kempster from Harlow SAC landed this cracking 10Ib -1oz Brill
Setting a New Boat Record breaking the old record by 12oz
The successful bait was Launce & squid cocktail presented on a flowing trace and size 6/0 Sakuma .
Lance is pictured with his Brill & smiling from ear to ear
Also boated were plenty of Smoothounds & doulble figure blonde rays

April has started off well & improving all the time
On the small tides when weather has permitted offshore banks producing some nice size blonde & undulate rays / cod / Conger / Spurs & a nice Brill.
Inshore marks producing increasing numbers of Smoothounds & varity of rays a few plaice mostly small around the 1lb also a few dabs plenty of small whiting .
Late April should see the bream turn up on the of big tides so some good fishing times ahead .
Below are the next available individual dates for April, or for a full charter give me a call .
Friday 22nd 3 spaces available .
Sunday 24th. 2 Spaces available .
Wednsday 27th 2 spaces available .

Hi Rob, fantastic day out on seajuicer Sunday. Skipper put us bang on the mark . with in half an hour 2 specimen spur dogs were on board and then numerous blonde rays through out the day ,what with congers, dog fish,pout,undulate rays and a nice brill the fish kept coming. Plenty of tea prevented us from going dry between pulling up fish. So a big thanks once again Rob

After what seems a long fruitless winter the spring has arrived and so have the skate in good numbers our weekend trips proved to be good with catches averaging 30 per day all caught photographed and released .
Some nice whiting and dabs also showing but the cod have failed to show .
Smoothounds expected soon with reports of small males already putting in an appearance on some marks
