    Report on-board Duke IV

The fine weather has allowed us to travel offshore where we have found good fishing on The Varne Bank with some nice Bass on live sandeels and pirks. Darrens group did well on the wrecks landing 20 Bass to around 4lb.
Marcs group found the fishing a challenge with a strong tidal flow and swell but jumbo Mackerel and Bass made up for the tough day.
Terrys group today from Sheppey managed a couple of Bass from the wreck along with some on pirks on the bank edge. They also landed some nice Gurnard and Codling along with a good haul of Mackerel.
Inshore has been encouraging with some nice Smoothounds to lug/squid cocktails. Still a few Skate and quality Bass being landed so plenty to fish for. Given continued good weather the inshore fishing should improve with more Bass and Mackerel shoaling on the banks to Hokkies and feathers.

    Report on-board White Maiden II

Well, what a week this has been! Its nearly too hot on the sea, can you believe that, in the UK in June! We have had some exceptional fishing with short trips of just a few hours throwing up some nice fish.

Best was the Monday morning trip with the lads from Devizes. The first three Hounds were caught at the same time, on our second mark, with the best for Pete going 22lbs! A monster freak hound! This 22lb Smoothound was released unharmed after being apprehended on very light tackle in shallow water. Awesome fishing!!! The next best went a mere 16!

That was the trend for the week with lots of Hounds giving themselves up to the hard back crab on offer.

of Pollack cod & bream, some to take home and some put back.

We had another good weekend on the offshore wrecks.

The tides were really big, but, we still managed to find some really good Cod and Pollock on the drift using the sidewinder lures.

The weather has been really kind over the last week with some flat calm sea's and the fishing has picked up due to the water clearing up.

There have even been a few Conger showing now on the smaller tides.

We are now looking forward to some more of this good fishing weather for the months ahead....

Darrens group fancied a day fishing for Bass so with a good forcast along with a spring tide we headed offshore. After catching sandeels for bait we began by drifting over the wreck. The Bass fed well on the eels making the decision to spend time catching them worthwhile. Along with the Bass a couple of Pollack took a likeing to the eels. Mission accomplished!
Last weekend Orla and Ether brought their parents fishing and useing there tiny rods landed some fine fighting Doggies while Dad had a nice Skate. Mackerel not as prolific as we would expect at this time of the year, but with fine weather and clear water we should see more coming through our area. With continued fine weather prospects look good for fishing around Ramsgate.

My group has been going out with Dave for the past 4 years and he always delivers:-). I called him to confirm Wednesday's trip and he advised we were going out for a mid channel wrecking trip for Cod and pollack....which is exactly what we did having over 60 quality table fish including a 17lb Cod to Shamil, on his first ever wrecking trip. Shamil also managed a bonus bass, one of two boated on the day. Dave and Jason were kept busy netting the fish, patiently untangling when the two first timers birds nested or overan after their leads hit the bottom and making the tea! I can't recommend Dave more highly. He has a wonderful sense of humour, knows where the fish are, and is an excellent skipper.
