May has passed and has seen the start of the fishing season in ernest
Good catches of plaice on the inside marks.many reasonable size example
Slowly the outer marks are stating to show codling ,bass and pollock

May has been all in all a good month, on the occasions we managed to get out to sea.
We have had good catches of black bream with the largest topping the scales at 4lb 2.5 oz caught by Leo Waldeck from the Bridge Inn Sea Fishing Club.
We have had plenty of Rays up to 24lb and Spur dogs up to 21lb.
Unfortunately the Mackerel are being shy at the moment, lets hope in June they realise that it is summer !! View Boats Page

This cracking Black Bream is potentially White Maidens Fish of the Month, a nice 4lb 1oz specimen caught by first time angler Martin from London. He was with the Sigis Bank Holiday Monday crew. The big male was caught near to Christchurch Ledge on a miserable day that had rain for about 5 hours. In the conditions the lads fished well and even wanted an extra hour that I couldn't give them due to a prior arrangement. That's keen!

SOMETHING FISHING FISHING CHARTERS HALF DAY FISHING TRIPS ARE NOW WELL UNDER WAY.
OUR HALF DAY FISHING TRIPS HAVE PRODUCED A GOOD FEW FISH ALREADY. FISH INCLUDING BREAM MACKEREL, SMOOTHOUND, BASS, DOGFISH, POUT, WHITING, RAYS, TOPE, WRASSE, A 3LB LOBSTER, ETC.
SOME DAYS HAVE BEEN SLOW AND NOT ALOT OF ACTION, BUT THE FISH THAT DO COME ON BOARD ARE WORTH IT WHEN THEY DO.
THESE TRIPS ARE RUN IN THE MORNINGS OR AFTERNOONS USUALLY FROM 9-1 OR 1.30 - 5.30, DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND SUMMER TIME. THEY ARE AN IDEAL INTRODUCTION TO BOAT FISHING ESPECIALLY FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN WHO DON'T WANT TO BE OUT AT SEA FOR TOO LONG. View Boats Page

The Pollock fishing off Brighton on the deep water wrecks has been providing some great sport recently. The Pollock numbers are increasing now that we have had some good weather to get out on those deep water wrecks.
Tabish and his crew had a good day out Pollock fishing off Brighton aboard Ocean Warrior 3. Tabish’s biggest Pollock of the day was 14lb. During their day out Pollock fishing off Brighton they caught 41 good sized Pollock and 1 Cod. They caught these fish by using sidewinder lures while drifting over a World War I shipwreck off the Sussex coast.
Ocean Warrior 3 is based in the port of Newhaven, which is the next port along from Brighton. We regularly go Pollock fishing off Brighton and along the Sussex coast. Newhaven Marina offers free parking along with a cafe/bakery, convenience shop and a tackle shop for all your fishing requirements within easy walking distance of the boat.

Two trips out last week and some great bream still around.
Wednesday was the turn of John from Tooting and his group.....we had a slowish day but the fish landed were of a good size.
The best fishing seemed to be on the ebb that day and we had most of our fish on a mark away from the main group of boats.
Saturday saw South East Anglers crew on board and a better day on the fish.
First bream ever for a couple of the guys and again some very good fish landed.
Again the best fishing was after the turn of the tide and close to my favourite marks.
