Report on-board Great White
Managed to get out onto the Mid Channel Wrecks on Saturday 9th Feb. We were rewarded with a new Boat Record Pollock of 23lb 2oz for Max Everett, Max's fish was one of many Doubles taken on the Day. Rhubarb and Custard Eels seemed to be working well. Stan Raine took a potential Brittish Record Cuckoo Wrasse estimated at around 2lb 8oz - 2lb 12oz+ we'll never know, but we know where it lives !!

Well what can i say about Dave and Ocean Warrior 3, the superlatives seem endless. Have always had my large specimen PB's from this boat and some of them have been worthy of anyones fishing career. Dave seems to instictively know where to look out on the wide blue yonder and prides himself on trying to always finding the fish.If the fish aren't feeding, well thats just fishing I guess.Have been out on this boat over a 12 year period and keep coming back for more.I rate dave as a very professional skiper with a very slick 'no nonsense' operation ..'theres fish out there , lets go get them attitude'. Always helpful when you need fishing and boating advice. He caters for both the beginner and 'obsessive' fisherfolk. You tell him what species you want to catch and he'll always give it a go (wind an weather permitting). The boat is a fast and ultra safe one, all safety equipment and professional coded requirements are aboard. He hires out quality tackle for people who dont have their own and want a taster. I can safely say you are in good hands with the boat ,advice and tackle requirements. Please listen to what he says, he knows what he's doing and has been charter shippering for years, with much experience learned the hard way. I would recommend this boat and this skipper to anyone...a thoroughly hard working team.

Had a great trip out with Dave on Friday 8th Feb, left the marina at Newhaven at 07.30, cold but calm and sunny, great expectations amonst the crew(9 in total) for some good cod and pollock. Headed east to about 5 miles off Beachy Head then due south for about 20/25 miles, by the time we got to our first drift the wind has risen considerably and the sea was quite lively, but instant success with a nice pollock of around 8lb, this was followed by a nice cod on the next drift of about 10lb. Others were catching pollock also, best lure and the one I always find succesfull is 6inch bloodhead sidewinder sandeel. One of the crew landed a really good 20lb plus cod. All in all a good day, most of the crew landed a few fish, nearly all pollock. I ended up with 5 pollock and 1 cod. Thanks again Dave great boat and great skippering.

The spring run of cod has started early this year and we are getting some nice fish to about 6lb. I am looking forward to some good pollock and turbot fishing soon, weather permitting and I am also planning some 2 day trips from June onwards to try for some 20lb+ turbot and cod. We are also going to target bass and conger. Please call for further details (07970899823).

Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3
2013 so far has started off a bit slowly as January provided us with lots of wind, which has meant it has been a bit quiet on the fishing side.

However, when the wind drops there are some big fish to be caught. This is Dennis from Burgess Hill, Sussex with a Pollack of 18lb, caught while fishing a wreck. There are also some big Cod starting to show on the deep water wrecks now.
So don't miss out, book in and try and catch your personal best fish on Ocean Warrior 3 Newhaven. -

The weather has not been great lately but we have managed to get some fishing in. When we have got out, there have been some nice double figured Pollack around on the offshore wrecks. There have also been a few Cod starting to show, which is great to see. The bigger Cod should be starting to show more as we progress into February and through to the beginning of March.

This is Simon from Essex with his good sized double figured Pollack, caught while 'gilling' over a wreck using a sidewinder lure.
Here is hoping for some fair fishing weather to get some good catches. If you fancy a day out wreck fishing give Dave a call on 07966 377145. -

Report on-board Emma Louise
Today we set out to try our luck on a few offshore wrecks, despite the freezing temperatures. We caught the 7.30 lock this morning and after a couple of hours steaming we arrived at our first wreck, which happened to be a sub and caught one or two pollack. As the tide was a bit slack, we decided to move approximately 7 miles west taking in a couple more wrecks on the way, which also produced one or two more fish. In my opinion, all in all an eventful day, with the biggest pollack being over 13lb with some nice gurnard and only one bass, but at least I have found a few more new wrecks that produce!
