Tobys group on Thursday got amongst the doubles with 2 females, both released to lay there eggs and fight another day. Rob & Chris from Herne Bay also got amongst the Skate along with a Cod to Rob on Friday. Today Steves group from Maidstone came armed with plenty of herring baits and had a fine haul of Skate again returning the females, still taking home plenty of wings. Lots of Whiting and some large Pout made up the numbers. Plenty of dates available from the 24th Jan so please email me for bookings for when the Spring Cod run starts.
Pic shows Steves group.

Report on-board Yellowfin
The wreck fishing season started today with a choppy day out in mid channel, drifting over wrecks with shads and sidewinders, not the best of conditons with wind and tide the drifts overs the wrecks was about 4knots, but the hardened wind swept wet crew still managed to catch some nice plump winter bass and pollack, so the year has got of to a not to bad start, some spaces left on some of my weekend trips,so hurry up before they go.

It is coming up to that time of year again when we will start to be going out to the deep water wrecks. We will be drifting the wrecks with sidewinders and shads to catch the Cod and Pollack.
We are hoping for some fine fishing weather and looking to catch some big fish again this year.
Check out the calendar for available dates and spaces to get yourself booked in for some good fishing.

Report on-board Duke IV
Plenty of fish off Ramsgate with Whiting, Cod & the ever present Thornbacks. The cold weather weather has pushed the doggies offshore so now is the time to try for the big Cod with large squid or cuttle baits. A live Whiting is always worth a fish as they make up the majority of food for large Cod.

Shoals of Herring showing up on the sounder and the Cod will follow these shoals, fattening up in the process.
Space available this thursday so if your fed up with Christmas come along for a dangle.
Alan landed this superb thornback Ray, could make an alternative Christmas lunch.
Happy New Year to all Duke IV clients. Bob -

The weather has now started to get a bit colder, which means that the larger Cod are starting to show. It won't be long before we start going out to the wrecks for some good sized Pollack out of the south west of Newhaven.

There have also been some nice flatfish on the inshore ground marks stil showing. We will stay on the inshore ground marks for another month or so before we start going deep sea wreck fishing with the lures.
We still have a few spaces over the festive season - if you fancy a day out, check out the calendar and give Dave a call. -

Well the winter Cod season here in Brighton is hotting up so just a quick report to keep you up to date. The weather has been kind and we've been out 8 days of the last 10, almost unheard of in winter!
View Boats Page
A few Cod are putting in appearance most days but as always some days are better than others. Most of the fish are good doubles with some smaller ones too, in fact I can't recall a winter throwing up so many different year classes of fish, which has to be good for the future!
Highlight of the week has to be the 27lb 8oz fish caught by Chris Mitchell last Friday, one of 5 landed that day. We also did well yesterday landing 5 good doubles to 17lb 8oz and unfortunately losing 3 more! This to a charter of 2 lads so quite a result!
You stand a VERY good chance of seeing a personal best so pick up the phone and book a trip, you'll catch nowt sat indoors!
Call Ray on 07850 171722 to book a trip. -
