A nice little trip today good friends, good food, good laugh. Had some fish with a testing northerly swell left in water only place we could get some shelter was st Margaret's Bay, started slowly but we tried a few rods with fresh peeler crab and the results were good still small hounds coming up but will get bigger. The water was like chocolate and a nice double figure skate helped and another smaller male happy days hope things improve every week now taking bookings inbox me on Facebook or message dawn on 07854772314

Good fishing onboard skerry belle all this week now the weather is playing ball, nice to see the hounds arriving this early, they should be our target fish now on all trips along with the bass, remember it's 2 per angler per day to take home which is nice, pic is Adam with a early hound caught on local crab

With Thornback Rays being widely caught inshore & Offshore, we will shortly be focusing our attention on targeting the first of our Smooth-hounds and Bass. During March-May, it is very common to catch smooth hounds well over 10lb+ due to all the big, pupped up females moving through, along side large bass running through along side them. From March onwards we will be using a variety of different baits to insure chance of getting these large fish from live prawn, fresh peeler crabs and squid to really give us the edge on catching these fish early. Along side them, you’ll find large quantities of Skate, Flat-Fish, Large Whiting and other species. The fishings good today aboard Duke lV with some nice Skate up to 10lb, Dabs and 3 nice Smoothounds around 5-6lb. Quite a surprise to get among the Hounds at this time of year, maybe the temperature of the water at around 9'c is keeping some of the summer species back from migrating south. Still plenty of Bass off Ramsgate although none so far today. Duke lV is out of the water for maintenance for 2 weeks but ready to go from mid February so give me a call and come along and make the most of the super fishing. Pic shows 2 of today's Hounds that ame along at the same time.
