Plenty of large thornbacks showing on the Goodwins with fish onboard of 15lb 2oz, 14lb 4oz, 14lb, 13lb 7oz, 13lb 3oz, 12lb 9oz, 12lb 6oz on yesterday's trip, all falling to fresh herring baits. Bass will also be our target next week, as the bass ban ends 1st April. Remember we are a full time charterboat and as long as we have 3 or more angler's onboard, we sail. The fishing is improving by the day off Ramsgate with more Thornback Ray's being caught. Joy has landed 3 today while hubby Nick is keeping the Doggies busy. The water has cleared to a fine colour bringing in more Smoothound and Bass. Won't be long before the Bass shoal chasing the large shoals of herring currently off Deal. Plenty of dates available for groups or individuals so give me a call and come and enjoy the fishing. Pic shows Joy with her best Skate today, a 9lb female she very sportingly released.

Trip out with one of our regulars London John who wont be able to drive any more due to health reasons. We went out to about 4 miles off the windfarm hoping for some Spurdog. In the event they wernt there but we found some nice skate, Biggest went to John at just over 9lbds.

Duke lV is now back and available following the annual maintenance. The spring fish are arriving with Skate and good quality Whiting. Always the chance of a Cod or Spurdog that usually show this time of the year. We have individuals spaces available next Sunday 24th with plenty of other dates available for individuals or Whole boat bookings. Hoping for fine fishing and good weather. It's getting colder but the fishing is still good off Ramsgate with plenty of Skate still around along with Whiting and the ever present Doggies. There are a few Cod being caught in the nets so they are out there. Fades group came out today on Duke lV and had Skate along with Doggies and Whiting with smiles all round they had a good day. Still space available over the New year so give me a call and shake off the winter blues.

Skerry Belle is now taking bookings for 2019, again our angling will be concentrated on the early bass fishing that we get in our waters. These can be really big fish, with double figure fish being caught on the best tides. The thornback ray fishing will really kick off as the fish move inshore to spawn, 40-50 fish a trip is not uncommon, there will always be a chance of a big cod as they Feed on the herring and the channel whiting should be making the 2lb bracket. Early season hounds should be making an appearance as the water temperature is still high. Extremely testing day today didn't think that rain would stop. Plenty whitings there and few skate, well fished everyone and see you all soon. And a big well done to Jack on his first skate. Taking bookings for next week and weekend, some good tides coming up.

Thought I do a report on here just to let you know how the season went from April to October operating from Queenbourgh, Sheerness.
It was a cracking season starting with some big numbers of Thornback Rays in April/May with some good ones to 16lb and plenty of low doubles with 50 plus fish landed on some trips was not uncommon.
At the end of May/June and through July was one of best Smoothound seasons we had regarding big hounds with plenty of fish 16 to 18lb on most trips with also lots of fish in the 9- 12lb bracket so some cracking sport on light gear.
In August/September and October we have seen some very good numbers of bass showing especially in October with some good days with fish between 4- 8lb with also the last of the hounds and rays still playing part.
We are waiting to see if the cod arrive now but until they do we are seeing plenty of channel whiting in the river and also rays starting show again in the Thames so on most days we can get a days fishing in even if the wind is blowing.
I do try to keep my calendar updated as regularly as i can but if you want a days fishing either a full party or an individual angler just give me a shout.
2019 diary is open but weekends are nearly all taken in the prime months but midweek we can help with.
