Report on-board Nova Stella.
Packs of larger hounds showing now with fish into double figures being landed,mainly to crab and prawn baits which I can supply on the day. Some nice bass showing on some days to so if your lucky with the weather there's some good sport .

The Belgium fiching club are back in Ramsgate fishing every day aboard Duke IV. On Thursday they landed Smoothounds to 9lb along with Skate and some nice Whiting, unusual for this time of year. Frozen crab caught the Hounds with Herring for the Skate. Today we have headed north looking for the Hounds but are catching plenty of Skate, mostly Male fish on Herring bait. Still spaces available aboard Duke IV for groups or individuals. Call me on 07715050851 to get out fishing and make the most of this very productive time of year.

Some terrific fish on board the Skerry Belle. With the best fish definately going to Wayne Milton for his monster bass, weighing in at 19 lb 4 oz. This fish is 5 oz off the British boat record and the biggest UK boat caught bass since 1987. So as you can see that really is a great achievement (see photo).
Our best blonde on board so far is 24 lb. We had a near record sea scorpion which gave us just short of a record. Some of our thornbacks have been nudging the 18 lb mark. The thornbacks are here in abundance, with again, over 20 per trip not uncommon.
As spring approaches we will start paying our attention to the wrecks on the Goodwins where we should see good numbers of coding bass, channel whiting blondes gurnard plaice and most other species. Remember we cater for walk ons, small groups, whole boat bookings up to 10 anglers. Remember all equipment, baits and tuition is included on all trips, unlimited tea and coffee and hot pies for lunch. Walk in toilet, hot and cold running water, heating and seating inside for all.

Hi just been let down on full charter booking, by guy called Jamie. Booked full boat then, told me some of his party can't make it. So could I do him a deal. Then rings back to say the rest can't make it because they got footie training. This guy is a total waste. His number is07523 658962, just in case he tries to waste another skippers time.

What a fantastic day of 2 halves, first we went looking for skate as the party was split in half what they wanted to target with a skate virgin aboard and he landed a 14 lb Skate and another pb on the boat of 10.5 lb, lost count how many skate we landed Stu crewman lost biggest skate of the day on the surface, amateur,,lol. .2nd half was Smoothounds but we only had 90 min on them as long steam home but landed 5 and some cracking pouting and whiting, great days fishing for everyone.

First run of smoothound showing now amongst the rays mainly to prawn and crab baits,first run of fish are normally 3/5lb males but we have had some females up to 8lb.so with some more warm weather in the next week or so should see some doubles.some bass showing too so happy days ahead.
Fishing 7 days a week. 4or more and we go.

The Skate are still here in numbers and we are catching up to 20 a day on Herring or Squid bait. Also Smoothounds and Bass although the Hounds are on the small side with the occasional better fish being landed. Peeler crab is now available, it's early this year so won't last much longer but is a top bait for the Smoothounds. Chris bought the family out today catching plenty of male Skate, so good for eating.

After a slow couple of months first run of spring Fish are now here,rays showing in good numbers with 60 odd Fish being landed in just a couple of sessions,most Fish caught on fresh herrings which I can supply on the day .
