Report on-board Duke IV
Plenty of Skate coming up today, mostly male fish so some to take home. A good size generally taking squid and herring baits. A few Whiting and good size Doggies making up the numbers. After 4hrs fishing the boys have landed eleven Skate, the best around 7lb 8oz. A few Smoothounds showing already so prospects are good and we can hope the fish keep coming throughout the Spring.
Still some weekend dates available so get your rods out and let's go fishing. Pic shows part of today's catch!

Tuesday 7th March, full boat and weather was ok , set off towards Kingsdown area with high hopes.
After dropping anchor and setting up the action started,,,, crewman Stuart was kept busy netting fish.
Total for the day was 35 Skate with the biggest going a tad over 12 lbd, a few were kept for the table but most went back.

Skate are arriving in numbers and love a herring bait and mid February until April is spring Codling time. Bass, Hounds, Spurdogs andMackerel will also be heading our way so expect good fishing from now on.
Duke IV is available as maintenance is planned for early April this year.

Some bumper catches should be seen in the next few months on board Skerry Belle, as the fishing improves with the days getting longer. Cod, bass, blonde rays, thornbacks, plaice, gurnard, mackeral, hounds, and mixed bag fishing on the Goodwins will be our target species. The Goodwins are renouned for catches of large bass and cod in early Spring. Remember, we are a full time charter boat and operate out of the Royal Harbour, Ramsgate, 7 days a week. Individuals, small groups or whole boat bookings can be organised anytime. All our trips include quality baits, equiptment, lunch, and tuition. Only see. 4 codling so far this autumn.. lots of mixed fish good size skate about if you manage to dodge whiting for 5minutes big shoals of herring about which is top bait..I have plenty in stock so just turn up and have a go..
