    Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3

April has arrived and the fishing is improving, Saturday we ventured out to the wrecks in somewhat challenging conditions and were rewarded with good size Pollack from the start this continued all day with the best going to the skipper 16lb and a 15lb 1ozs Pollack being landed by Dave Colcough and as a bonus we found the Cod as well. Sunday we decided to go Turbot / Plaice fishing again in difficult conditions the wind kept veering making drifts awkward but we did manage to land 4 and drop at least 3 the best being a 12lb Turbot for Tony Partridge sadly we did not land a Plaice- next time. Plenty more specialist trips coming up please call for details

  • 30/03/2016 Fishing Report by Peter Davis on Warrior II (Looe, Cornwall)

30 Mar 2016 by Peter Davis

    Report on-board Warrior II

Hi all, here we are then - new year / new season !! We did our first trips last week Wed and Fri, Weather fine enough but water temp down at 7 degrees !! Fishing slow with very few Pollack but a little run of ling, biggest to Brian Copeland @ just under 20lb plus all the normal Pouts, Cuckoo's and poor cod. There was a little show of Mackerel which is promising. This winter Force Ten has been down the boatyard for a refit and is now looking good with a new transom door to let us get the monsters aboard a lot easier and the return to the sea easier still. Looking forward to seeing all my regulars and hopefully a few new faces. That's it for now but will keep you informed as the fishing picks up and the temp rises. Tight Lines, Pete

  • 03/2016 Fishing Report by Lyle Stantiford on Supanova II (Weymouth, Dorset)

    Mar 2016 by Lyle Stantiford

    Report on-board Supanova II

Well.......... March Thankfully bought a change in the relentless winds we have seen throughout late 15 early 16. AT times we managed to string together 5 or 6 days on the trot!

The fishing Mid Channel has been excellent with great numbers of Pollack and some crackers too!! The fish are beginning to spawn which is about right for this time of year. This normally signals the arrival of the first few Ling and this should Pick up pace throughout April and into May. The inshore fishing has been good for Blonde Rays, The first Turbot trip recently was by no means frantic but we did manage a Nice fish for Bob from Oxford which opened our account for 2016.

Fingers crossed the Plaice and Turbot will now begin to pick up pace and by the end of the month we may start to see the first few Cod.

Thanks to all who travelled to Weymouth in March and made the best of the good weather days. Keep on coming folks and all the guys in Weymouth will show you what the best port in the country can offer!

Pictured is Keith Boseley with a Coalfish, first for us this year, have heard reports of a few more from the port so next time you are wrecking you never know!!

    Tight Lines,

    Lyle
