Report on-board Supanova II
Hi All,
October was a pretty decent month weather wise, decent numbers and probably the best stamp of Bream I have seen for quite a few years. It was all about the spring tides that's for sure. Inshore tight to Chesil beach say some decent catches of Plaice although not big fish that we are used to they gave a good account of themselves on light tackle. Bass catches on the big tides were somewhat patchy but some decent fish around if you were lucky to land on them. A wrecking trip towards the end of October accounted for decent numbers of Cod which for us here in Weymouth is unheard of. Some decent Pollack also featured so this is a fantastic sign for the first designated Pollack trips in December and January. Small tides inshore have allowed us to get on some cracking Blonde Rays with up to 30 fish a trip all returned. Best fish was around 25lb with some anglers landing up to a dozen fish a trip. Really good sport. Fantastic results from the Shambles during October and into November of Brill and Turbot with up to 15 fish a session which is a marked improvement on last year.
November has been battered with west-southwest Gales which although unwelcome has been a nice change to the relentless easterly winds we have had this year. So only a handful of trips have featured with once again Blonde Rays prominent on small tides, Bass, Whiting and Turbot and Brill have proved plentiful on most recent trips. A few quick stops for squid on the way in has been great fun with plenty of laughs and plenty of ink being squirted around!
As the season winds down it's time to begin to reflect on another busy season here in Weymouth and thank you all once again for your continued support to the top port in the UK. We all thank you very much.
Between Christmas and New Year I will be running some Pollack trips out to the wrecks, so if you need to get away and get some fresh air give me a call/text 07976876667. Trips will be running on 27th/28th/29th December.

Poole Cod Comp
as the weather decided to give the charter fleet a break the seas were calm on a cold and frosty morning, Mistress Linda anglers opted to go to the IOW in hope of a big Cod, the fishing was not furious but fish were coming aboard and as the tide eased the Cod appeared, we hooked into at least 6 but only landed 4. At least we were now in with a chance of a prize in the comp. The tide changed and so did our fortunes as the fishing dropped away to just the occasional dogfish and pout. At the weigh in the comp was won by R Lake with a cracking 24lb 10ozs Cod, Mistress Linda won the top Charter boat prizeView Boats Page

The cod fishing was starting to come good then nature intervenes and thanks to Hurricane Barney we have had 2 weeks of severe winds where even the protection afforded by Poole Harbour has meant being tied up waiting for a weather window, in the meantime the tackle box is immaculate, new cod traces ready to go and a very tidy boat. When the winds drop I will be going to sea if you are free and would like to go Cod fishing then please call

Report on-board Silver Spray II
As you can imagine I haven't really got a whole lot to report about the last months activities except about the weather. Not sure I can remember a sustained period of high winds like this for such a long time. Although it finally looking like backing off to the north this weekend and then dying down. Despite all this though we have managed half a dozen trips over to the Isle of White for cod and whiting. Cod have been coming up every trip into the mid teens which is nice to see. As November pushes on, provided we can get out to them, we should start to see those 20lb+ fish. The whiting have made a great start as well, using mackerel baits 2/0 hooks around slack water we are getting plenty of them at the 2lb plus mark. Hopefully next month we have done a few more trips and will have more to chat about.

Report on-board Just Fishing
We've missed out on a fair few trips due to the strong winds lately. However we did manage to get out to the Wrecks at the end of October and the Cod are still playing ball. We also have managed to get out there at the start of November and managed a few nice Pollock along with Cod all just under an hours steaming.
The Skerries banks are still producing Plaice but has slowed up now.
"Just Fishing" will remain ready and available during the winter months for the large Cod and Pollock.
We are already taking bookings for 2016 with Skerries Charters at £350 for the day and Wrecking charters Starting at £450.
Also vouchers are available for xmas.

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, with what looks like a run of mild November weather bringing strong South Westerly winds and rain from the Atlantic up the English Channel then at this present time this month of November looks like it could be a poor one for getting out afloat. Having cancelled today, Sat. 7th and tomorrow, Sun. 8th, then looking at the long range forecast on several different Internet sites it is difficult to see when the next settled spell of weather will come. One such site, www.windyty.com is giving this current weather for the next ten days. So if I cancel your trip then don't be surprised even though we don't normally 'pull the plug' until the day before any planned booking having seen the 24 hour forecast for your chosen day. I can do many things, find you decent fish, tie your rigs for you, and even make decent tea and coffee but I haven't yet managed to alter the weather that the Big Man gives us. So be patient and when the weather improves we will be out there 'on the fish' again, in the meantime I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon, regards, Malc, 'Just Mary', Poole.
