    Report on-board Warrior II

Well it's not too shabby at the moment. Friday 19th June, out sharking, had a fifty pound Blue come sniffing around then went away for about 1hr 30mins then back she came and took Nigel's bait but also doubled back and went through his line. She very obligingly went on and took Ollie's bait (never shark fished before). He caught the fish and got our trace back !! Meanwhile Nigel has rigged and re-baited and is on the way back out when I hear
"I've got one on" well- 50minutes later I had the trace in my hand (for the first time)OMG what a fish (9ft + long and a massive girth) off it went again ! Twice more it came to Force Ten but after the Third time of having it up to the boat it went about 20ft from the boat and started to roll, up his trace onto his 30lb mono and you can guess the rest !!
My nearly 50yrs of sharking I have never seen a bigger Blue Shark, probably 200lb +. After all that excitement Reef Fishing on Sat 20th saw one of my youngest anglers, Josh, beat his dad and catch a nice 14lb Ling( see latest catch Piccy's) along with a good selection of other reef fish. Well Done, great effort for a 9yr old !!

James Mcevoy and friends enjoyed a days Reef fishing and caught plenty of species and good fish which included Undulate Rays,Black Bream,Tope,Bull Huss Congers etc. Star of the show was 77 year old Ron Mcevoy who just kept reeling up one good fish after another. Well done Ron " I would just like to be alive at 77 let alone fishing and getting a tug on my tackle." Pictured is Ron with his biggest Undulate Ray of the trip which weighed in at 15Ib. • 16/06/2015 Fishing Report by Sam Cumming on Silver Spray II (Poole, Dorset)

16 Jun 2015 by Sam Cumming

    Report on-board Silver Spray II

Since the last report fishing has continued to impress right across the grounds with even the worse days producing above average results. Inshore fishing is still showing very good numbers of bream with 3lb plus fish being netted regularly. It’s always a welcome sight to see undulate rays so abundant on the same grounds and many anglers have been keeping themselves busy targeting these as well. A little further off and the bass fishing has started, no great numbers yet but a few nice ones on both live baits and artificials. Unfortunately bad weather has put pay to my latest trip to Alderney but we did manage to get across at the end of May despite the weather trying its best to stop us. Fishing was good with cod and turbot in good numbers over the first 3 days. The last day produced a challenge with 40 knots of south-westerly forecast, Martin Donovan and his crew were undeterred and we piled down the south bank for a couple of hours and were rewarded with a fine turbot of 15lb 8oz to round the trip off. Next week I will be over to Cherbourg for the first time this year, with the amount of fish out on the wrecks our side I can’t wait to go further afield and have a look.

Season seams to have kicked off now some nice Cod and Pollock on the inshore reefs and the occasional Haddock and some nice Ling mixed in.
No Sharks as yet but then we have only had one trip so far . One or two blues have been landed on other Looe boats though.

Mid channel wreck fishing is producing good catches of small to medium Cod and some cracking Pollack, anglers are taking advantage of the good weather and enjoying a great day out using light gear the magic colours that produce the best results are rhubarb / custard and bubble gum pink, make sure you take these to optimise your chances. Around Poole the banks are producing Rays in good numbers along with all the summer seasonal fish.
