Happy New Year!
Our refit is now well underway, we are changing our hull colour to a fresh white gel coat, with the bottom being copper coated. We have also had an extensive rewire and update of our electronic equipment. We are hoping to be back in the water in Febuary where we will be targeting the Large Pollock and Cod so keep an eye on our calender as it will soon be updated to what trips are coming up for individuals aswell as dates free for private charters...
All fish photos that will be posted will be from 2015 so no recycling old pics.
Remember "Just Fishing" will be offering a wide range of fishing charters for individuals and Private trips, from species hunts to the finest Wreck fishing out from Brixham.

The last trip of 2014 produced some excellent Whiting fishing along with plenty of Conger eels,Thornback Ray and the usual Pouts,Poor Cod and Dogfish. Ian Youngs caught the best Whiting weighing 3Ib 3oz(pictured) and Wife Denise caught the second largest Whiting weighing 3Ib 1oz.Denise also chipped in with a 9Ib 8oz Thornback Ray.

Just a quick report to say Spot On's annual scrub and tidy up is going well and she should be back in the water middle of January 2015 ready for another great season.
2014 has been another brilliant year again for Spot On and the new boat is simply unbeatable.
The catches on Spot On have also been unrivalled by most South west Uk boats which you can see for yourselves in the catch gallery.
Bookings for 2015 are filling very fast and already more trips booked than I had anticipated so again I would like to thank you all for supporting Brixham and myself.
I would like to wish all my customers old and new a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you all on board Spot On for the 2015 season.
If you have not yet joined myself on board Spot On or have fished from Brixham with little success I would like to welcome you on board some day soon.

December Monthly Report:
We are coming to the end of another year of fishing from Poole and I think it’s been good all round with every target species turning up in both quality and quantity. The one season that I would say has been slightly slow for us would have been the winter coding, plenty of mixed fish like rays congers and whiting but unfortunately not as many cod as we would have liked so far. This changed last Saturday as Ray Baldwin joined us for the day, he caught the biggest cod of last year weighing in at 28lb 12oz. Using the same tactics, a sliding pennel rig baited with squid, cuttle and lug worm, Ray produced the goods again with a mammoth 33lber which put up a tremendous fight. Being the first angler to land a 30lb plus cod this winter has earned Ray a free trip to Cherbourg next year and in the process redeemed our end to the year. As I mentioned the cod may have been a bit slow but that hasn’t stopped the anglers from hooking into plenty of other fish. It’s unusual to see spur dogs this far inshore at this time of year but they are now making regular appearances, fingers crossed this means we will have plenty of sport when we start fishing for them properly on the offshore banks. It's December and there is still some good fishing on the days between the Blows, this week we managed a few hours on a couple of Marks within spitting distance of the shore first drifting over them before putting the hook down we had been targeting Codling but were rewarded with some very nice Whiting the majority of which were returned to the depths whist a few were kept for the pot. we also managed a few Rays mainly Thornbacks but a undulate put in an appearance at the surface before line snapped (it was light tackle) and away it went. Dogfish put in a brief appearance but were very small. Good days fishing was had by all and the picture shows the skipper does catch even if only Baby Thornback Ray duly returned after the picture to find its Mummy and Daddy.
Don't forget Optimist is afloat and available throughout the winter season Weather permitting of course and a Merry Christmas and Tight Lines for 2015 to all our Anglers, we look forward to welcoming you aboard in 2015 for some good fishing on some marks that are a little bit different from the usual and produce some unexpected results View Boats Page

Today Mark Turner landed a PB Cod of 27lb 4ozs and the best so far this season on the boat, along with this superb fish we had another Cod of 17lb 12ozs lots of congers to 40lb and the usual mix of channels , pout and the ever present dogfish. The fishing from Poole during the winter season is now at its best with good catches of channel whiting coming aboard and lots of sport with congers, Rays, Spurdogs, and the main target Cod.

during December the Reef/Bank fishing for Whiting,Cod,Rays,Congers,Bull Huss etc will be the main stay.Don't Miss Out. I would like to wish all my anglers and every other angler a Merry Christmas and tight lines for next year, this year has not run true to form, mackerel were scarce for best part of the summer and several species you would expect to catch abroad were caught in our waters. The cod and whiting fishing from Poole is in full swing and the best cod to my knowledge by a Poole boat is a cracking 34lb I could only manage a 15lb12oz one for my anglers yesterday along with some nice whiting. The SFP cod comp is now on the 28th December and should produce some fine fish if you fancy entering it give me call for details. Last week I did a flounder trip in Poole Harbour and ended up with 18 nice fish but the most impressive part of the trip was the stunning scenery and wildlife we saw during the day. Over the next few weeks the I expect several flounders around the 4lb to be landed and some good cod in the 30lb class then after Christmas the offshore banks will come alive with good catches of Spurdogs poss record size and blond rays in numbers. Merry Christmas.
