    Report on-board Spot On!

Spot On was pleased to welcome some young lads from the South Devon fishing forum on board and after working hard all weekend wrecking finding cod, bass, Pollock etc we set out in search of some ling.

We were not disappointed although the first 2 fish to come up on mackerel flappers were a nice 10lb cod and 6lb Pollock, however a few wrecks later we hit into the ling with 5-6 fish coming on board very quickly every drift and things became a bit hectic, biggest ling fell to Ross woolridge of a nice specimen ling of 21lb.
The guys were sporting with most using 15lb class tackle and 25b mainline with a few larger specimens getting away but all in all a good day spent with a good bunch of guys, the day was complete with some friendly dolphins joining us for a few miles to play with our wake on the way in, some great videos of this on facebbok, just search spotoncharters brixham.

New boat is also progressing well so cant wait, 2014 tides and diary open and bookings are coming in so good to see, get in early to get your first choices.

Thank you guys for choosing Brixham as your home of wrecking port and don't forget those nice turbot and big plaice of over 7lb being caught from our local skerries bank from a private boat recently.

Pictured is a group shot of the guys holding a few of there fish, all fish gutted freshly and prepared to keep them as fresh as they can for you to enjoy.

  • 08/09/2013 Fishing Report by Roger Phillips on Che Sara Sara (Newquay, Cornwall)

8 Sep 2013 by Roger Phillips

    Report on-board Che Sara Sara

Lumpy old start to the day punching out through the waves to the 12 mile reef mark. The state of the tide and wind produced a lovely slow drift which soon had us into some nice pollock. The action was steady and at the end of the day we had well over 100 pollock 3lb to 8lb, 1 nice cod 8lb we dont see these very often, gurnard, ling and wrasse. Plenty of mackeral still about nice small bait size which were used to entise the pollock as well as sand eel, shads and rubber eels of various colours. The pollock were being caught on the first few turns and also maybe as far as 30 to 40 turns up good sport on light tackle very enjoyable day.

    Sep 2013 by Lyle Stantiford

    Report on-board Supanova II

    Well well well...........

What a summer we are having!!! the wind just doesn't blow and the suns out! Loving it!

Just 2 lost days in the whole of August which for the last few years has been unheard of.

August historically can be a funny month with the fishing and this year proved to be one of those funny months.
Some goof]d fishing inshore with great Plaice fishing and bream along with some lovely undulates and Blondes but all this has been on the small tides. As soon as the tides have built the excitement grows for better Bream and Bass, well unfortunately throughout August apart from the odd Day this just didn't happen.

Some interesting days on this years Conger Comp with numbers greatly reduced on all boats than previous years. Maybe the cold winter is to blame???? This years winning eel was a cracker of 82lb with Supanova's best of 68lb falling to Phil Rogers.

The next neap tides after the conger comp saw us venture off to find some more congers with again mixed results on various wrecks, the highlight of this trip however was some amazing Bream fishing with around 30 fish landed and all but 2 fish were over 3lb, with the best of 4lb 14oz falling to Phil Dolan (pictured).

September sees competition time in weymouth so watch this space for updates.

Once again thanks to all who continue to support the port.

    Tight line,

    Lyle
