Report on-board Lady Margaret
The fishing is currently very good with a wide range of species available. We have also been helped by generally favourable weather. On some days the weather has been stunning.
The highlight of the recent fishing on "Lady Margaret" has definitely been the plaice fishing. There have been huge numbers of fish around on the local marks including some bigger fish in the 3lb+ range. On some sessions the fishing has been frenetic with bites coming all round the boat more similar to bream or bass fishing.
The bream fishing continues to be good. Hopefully this will carry on for a while yet as the fish were quite late establishing themselves this year. Lots of smaller fish around but also some bigger ones.
We haven't done much bass fishing this month but what we have done has been very poor which is a bit surprising as June is normally a great month. Fortunately, the great plaice fishing on the way in has come to the rescue. Hopefully this is just a blip and the bass fishing will improve soon.
We have also seen a nice variety of other species including turbot and brill, rays, conger, bull huss, double figure smoothhounds and tope to 20lb+.View Boats Page

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
Fishing has been top notch the last few days with plenty of Plaice, Bream, Tope an£ Rays but today’s trip had a more sober feel to it where we said goodbye to one of my anglers and spread his ashes at sea, Mike had been a loyal customer and good friend over the years but sadly passed away his son, family and friends arranged the day in respect for their dad and had a fun days fishing and as we steamed home Mike jnr raised a glass toasted his dad Mike with his favourite tipple as we said goodbye to a real nice guy. RIP my friend and we will raise a glass this time next year.

Our first few days fishing since starting up our business have proven to be very productive with some cracking inshore fishing on the local banks and reefs. The Friday proved to be tricky with the weather but we managed to fish a reef which produced some nice tope / congers / rays a great effort by Graeme and his team sticking it out on a very wet day. Saturday proved to be the complete opposite with the weather giving us flat calm conditions allowing us to head to the banks off Portland bill where we had a great day fishing for blonde rays and turbot. Biggest ray going 15lb 4oz and best turbot of 6lb 2oz great effort by Derbs and Jord. Finally Sunday we had a shorter 4 hr trip which produced some congers and rays providing great sport from a local wreck all in all a great weekend.

Report on-board Lady Margaret
The annual maintenance is now complete and "Lady Margaret" is back in the water. Despite some very unsettled weather considering it is May we have had some good fishing for a variety of species.
There are currently lots of black bream around. All the local marks have been producing fish. We are still awaiting our first three pounder of the year but there are plenty of fish in the 1lb 8oz to 2lb class which give excellent sport on light tackle.
The plaice fishing has been hit and miss. There are some nice sized keepers around but you need the right conditions to get them feeding. The big storm late in the month disturbed the fishing for a while but we had a decent catch at the end of the month. We have also had mackerel, gurnards and bass coming aboard during the plaice sessions.
All this fishing is done with very light tackle and is available in local waters reached in minimal travelling time and sheltered from northerly and westerly winds.
Further out there are some nice sized bass. We did our first bassing trip of the year at the end of the month. The fishing was a bit slow but the fish were of a good average size including a fish of 10lb 12oz our first double figure bass of the year.View Boats Page

Headed out yesterday 21st May 2021 to do an inshore trip targeting Bream, Plaice and Rays. We managed to catch all 3 species including dogfish and Wrasse.
It was a private 2 day charter from a group of family and friends from Stevenage. Unfortunately I had to cancel todays' trip due to the horrendous weather we keep getting lately.View Boats Page
