Fishing Report by Lyle Stantiford
on Supanova II (Weymouth, Dorset)
Apr 2012 by Lyle Stantiford
Report on-board Supanova II
What a Mont March proved to be both with weather and fishing!
The wrecking continued to be brilliant with good catches of Pollack with the odd Cod thrown in. The last few days even showed some Ling which was nice to see.
The last moths inshore fishing has been mind blowing, with Turbot catches out of this world with fish to 30lb coming form the Shambles it has proved a great draw with anglers coming from all over Europe hoping to bump in to a biggy! Remember ladies and gents the Flatfish grounds are ONLY 40 MINS FROM WEYMOUTH, Where else in the world can you get such good flatty fishing so close to port?
There has also been a couple of early Brill turning up, Pictured is Brian Croft with the biggest Brill I have ever seen and the biggest Brill from the Shambles for a number of years. This monster banged the scales round to a whopping 11lb 2oz!!! And easily wins fish of the month this month.
April should see continued good flat fish fishing with Plaice a prominent feature along with hopefully some early Bream. The wrecks should see continued Sport with Cod and Ling numbers increasing.
Once again thanks to all for Coming to Weymouth and Choosing Supanova!View Boats Page

Report on-board Optimist
It's been a good weekend - we've had bass, double-figure thornback ray, double figure conger, a few codling, a few dogfish and a Ling on board. A good few days, and lovely to see the summer species beginning to show. (We'll all be cursing the dogfish soon though...)
The weather has be kind too - if this settled spell continues I'm hoping to see the first of the upper channel smoothounds before too long.View Boats Page
