    Report on-board Wild Frontier 2

    Many pollack on the wrecks,
Wildfrontier has been wrecking the last couple of days, a nice crowd of anglers and some good weather, a good time was had by all. First part of the day we had a easing tide so we were armed with live sandeels that i had managed to trawl a couple of days prior to the trip, we were straight into double figure fish ,the eels continued to produce all threw the slack water. When the tide turned and picked up strength the red gills and sidewinders seemed to start catching better than the eels.

    Report on-board Supanova II

Well what a month February turned out to be for Pollack fishing.

The fishing on nearly every trip was fantastic with the stamp of fish much improved on the last couple of years.
Many people breaking their personal bests which after all is what angling is about isn't it??

The arrival of the sand eels now should see catches continue if not improve further, also the odd ling and cod have made a nice appearance and as March progresses we would hope that ling numbers improve.

Inshore fishing has begun with the first showings of Plaice and Turbot leading us to believe that March and April should see us in for some frantic action in Weymouth.

Fish of the month goes to dedicated angler Trad Casey of Weymouth who landed this cracking Pollack of 20lb 4oz on his first wrecking trip!!!

Thanks to all who braved the cold this month and continue to offer their custom to Supanova and the rest of the Weymouth fleet!!

Check out the new SUPANOVA FACEBOOK PAGE

Copy and paste this ling into your address bar and be up to date with hourly catches!!

I've been using the mantra "we'll find the fish". Over the past few days finding them has been hard, but we got there! We've been having to move about a bit in the channel to find the hot-spots, but we get there eventually! Today I had six anglers on board, and we went back into harbour with ten "in the box". Not too bad really. Fishing has been hard for the past week. But we DID find the fish!

    Report on-board Wave Chieftain

The 2011 boat fishing at Falmouth will be one to remember, an early run of Whiting with fish up to 5lb, Haddock up to 6lb and Mackerel to 2lb was a great way to start the year, The Pollack season finished before it started, probably due to over fishing of this now sort after fish, however a few good hits on the wrecks saw fish up to 18lb and was helped by some great Ling with the best topping 38lb. We struggled to see any big Congers this year with the best hitting 75lb, however plenty of eels in the 40 –50lb bracket gave many an angler a good scrap and were all returned alive. Cod are now being caught daily with the best hitting 26lb but plenty of 5-8lb fish always happy to take your bait. Inshore marks have produced some great sport with Bull Huss to 14lb and plenty of rays up to 8lb. The Shark fishing season started early this year and ran up to November , all were returned alive with the best hitting 155lb on the scales and over 40 fish making the 100lb mark and plenty of Garfish hitting the 2.5lb. The season closed with a heavy run of Squid and Bass to 6lb and my fisher wife hooked her self a fantastic Red Gurnard of 3.2.3lb setting a new World record !! ( And well deserved ). What a great way to end the season, looking forward to 2012

What a strange three day period - Friday - four people fishing, and we end the day with eighteen keepers. That's how it should be! Saturday - one codling all day. Today (Sunday 15th) and we get six keepers in under an hour, then not a bite for four hours..... I guess that's why it's called "fishing", not "catching". That old adage "wind's in the east, fish bite least" comes to mind! Plenty of time left in the current cod season though.

    Jan 2012 by Lyle Stantiford

    Report on-board Supanova II

The first trip of 2012 on board Supanova took place this weekend (08/01/12) with a light Westerly breeze it was decided to venture to the Mid Channel wrecks to have a look for the early season Pollack.

We were into fish from the off, not fast and furious but with a couple of fish coming to the net each drift all on board managed to catch a few for their tea.

Best fish of the day fell to Tim Suttle from Trowbridge with this cracker of 17lb 8oz. Tim tamed the beast with and orange Storm Shad on an 8' trace and 20lb class tackle.

With a showing like this in January the fishing should continue to go from strength to strength from here on in!

I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year to all Supanova customers old and new and all those anglers that make Weymouth the port it is.

Tight lines for 2012 one and all!
