Report on-board Supanova II
Well my first year in the Chartering world is nearly over!! What a cracking year it has been too!
A massive thanks to all who ventured out on Supanova this year, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have.
Those of you who didn't come on board this year but ventured out on other boats from Weymouth, a massive thanks must go to you also for supporting the town.
The fishing over the last few weeks has been frantic but unfortunately very few boats have ventured out to brave it. Those that have managed to get their lads down through the snow and out fishing have seen some cracking catches of whiting with the numbers in their hundreds, a few christmas bonus bass still lurking around and already showing are the winter Pollack on the wrecks!!
Fingers crossed fo an exciting 2011.
Merry Christmas and a fishy New Year.

Report on-board Rapid Fisher
The recent snow didn't dampen spirits aboard Rapid Fisher's tenth trip to famous Isle of Wight cod grounds. After spending an hour clearing snow we were quickly under way at a steady 19 knots. As the boat settled at anchor we were into good size whiting which remained constant throughout the day. I am pleased to report that we found the COD AGAIN which makes our success rate 10/10. Seen here is Paul with a fine 16lber.
Don't delay contact Paul to book a cod trip, you won't be disappointed!

Report on-board Jay Jay
Saturday 4th December gave us a welcome break from the cold NE winds of late and allowed us to get out for the day. Fishing was slow inshore but as the tide slackened we moved off to a favourite spot which produced bull huss, spurdog and eels as well as the usual dogfish in between. Matt Jeferies bagged his first ever spurdog with local angling reporter Wayne Thomas taking the biggest catch of the day with a 35lb Conger eel. No cod showing on this trip but things look good for the coming weeks.

Report on-board Jay Jay
November the 14th saw a good day out for a local club both for weather and fish. Catches for the day included over a dozen bull huss upto 12lb, 3 eels upto 20lb, a blonde ray and over 15 spurs the biggest of them being 13.5lb. There were also a few tope runs but none of them led to anything other than lost gear. All in all not a bad day out. This was the first time fishing some new ground which I hope will produce some nice cod in the comming months.....watch this space.

Report on-board Atlantic Diver / Atlantic Explorer
Fish, fish and more fish...made for exciting days and happy anglers this year aboard Atlantic Diver and our latest acquesition the Bounty . 8-9lb codling were coming in plentiful supply all summer. Tope in all sizes up to 35lb were a regular catch during late season and left fishermen taking back tales to the pub ( not literally) of their exciting haul as well as leaving smiles on the faces of skippers Chris Lowe and Aaron Trebillcock. (All sharks were returned to the sea as per the SSACN Tope Code of Best Practise). 12lb pollack, conger eel, 15lb ling, wrasse , john dory, red, grey and striped gurnard, black bream, garfish, smooth hound and of course copious amounts of good sized mackerel fit for the bar-b-que. A visit from TV chef Valentine Warner to eat what we caught proved very fruitful and sitting back in the breath takingly beautiful Newquay Bay whist the spoils of the day were cooked for us on board proved to be one of the most enjoyable days work we,ve had. An appearance by a pod of playful bottlenose dolphins jumping in our bow waves rounded the day off to perfection!!!!! Thanks Aaron for the tip off.
Regular customer John Crisp booked a months fishing on and off with family and friends late season and caught more in a days fishing with Atlantic Diver than all season at home in South Hampton....Happy Days!! He spent the rest of his Cornish adventure tasting the delights of Falmouth Oysters and pints of Skinners Penny-Come-Quick real ale at the Falmouth Oyster Festival. as well as sampling the delights of Newquay.
The season continues throughout the winter for those interested as we start up the smoker......hmmmm yummy.
