Report on-board Supanova II
Hi all,
Well the breaming has now seemed to die away but the Cod fishing has been fantastic on the wrecks with good numbers of double figure fish. We have also seen some cracking Pollack to 22lb's and ling to 23lb's. The congering on the wrecks has also been steady.
Inshore has seen good numbers of Tope, congers and Bull huss on the reefs and continued Turbot fishing on the Shambles. The next month should see all the above continued with hopefully the arrival of a bass or two and the bream again.
Tight lines to all!!!View Boats Page

The lads from the Wilts & Dorset SAC enjoyed a great days fishing aboard Predator II. The morning was spent drifting for Tope which resulted in 14 being landed with the biggest falling to Jim weighing in at just over 30lbs.
The afternoon was spent at anchor and Kerry managed to land his first Undulate Ray. Not be out done his son, Tim, caught his first Undulate which unfortunately for Kerry was bigger!! So much for a father's day present!

THE ROYAL HOTEL TOTTINGTON from Bury did their second weekend trip of the year aboard Flamer III and did two days wreck fishing catching some excellent cod and numerous pollack along with some pain in the ass pouts.Alan Bradshaw the boat booking secretary was pleased with a cod weighing 14Ib 8oz he landed and commented it was the best cod he had caught for a few years. He was out done though by club member Paul Snowden who landed an 18Ib 8oz cod (Paul is Pictured with his big cod). The cod were caught on a variety of lures such as sidewinders,Shads etc with the pollack being caught on mainly firetail jelly worms. During the two days a lot of gear was lost on the wrecks and a common cry was "I've lost the fu**ing lot" which I think will now be the new club motto. The lads enjoyed their weekend and are looking forward to their next weekend trip aboard Flamer III in September and have already booked their dates for 2011.

JENNY GETS A BIG ONE ON FLAMER III - 59 year old Jenny Foley on her very first wrecking trip landed her dream catch a 20Ib cod and on the very first drift of the day.Jenny struggled to pull the big cod up from a depth of 200 feet.Jenny was using 15Ib class tackle with a flying collar rig and a rhubarb and custard sidewinder lure.As you expect Jenny was over the moon with her catch. She also caught several pollack during her day out.Jenny's catch was just part of a good cod, ling and pollack catch on Flamer III on June 4th 2010.

Report on-board Bessie Vee
A weekend of very slack tides enabled us to go for a 30 mile wreck trip looking for some ling. Managed to land 25, the best of which was 22lb, and returned 23 congers for the day, the best of which made 35lb.
On Sunday, we did a 20 mile trip, where we found less ling, but still managed a dozen, though they were smaller - up to 12lb. Made up for that with congers, however - caught and released over 50, the best of which came in at 43lb. Top angler landed 12 conger & 3 ling for the day. Very satisfactory!View Boats Page

BUZZ LIGHTYEAR CLEANS UP - The Blacksmith Arms Fun Time Sea Angling club enjoyed a three day angling break aboard Flamer III.The first day was spent mainly fishing for flatty's and although the action was slow,Mike Browne known as Buzz because of his likeness to the Toy Story film character Buzz Lightyear landed his first ever turbot an excellent fish of 20Ib 8oz.The successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel.Days two and three were spent wrecking and plenty of pollack and cod were caught along with some ling.Simon who is nicknamed SKID(something to do with his underpants) also managed to catch a conger.Trophies were awarded at the end of the three days and the the results were Winner - Buzz,Best Flatfish - Buzz,Weakest Link - NIck Rip Van Harrison(because he likes to sleep a lot).So Buzz cleaned up with the majority of the trophies. One night we all went out for a chinese meal and trip organiser Matt got a fish bone stuck in his thoat which eventualy he did manage to cough up after a lot of different methods including a chinese one were a plate was placed on his head and tapped with chop sticks.Matt was nicknamed "BONES" for the rest of the trip. The other member of the crew Danny was nicknamed "Fernghi" which I was informed is a character from Star Trek.I also got given a nick name "The Cod Father".Fish of the trip had to be the 20Ib 8oz turbot caught by Buzz(pictured). From a personal note Matt's crew were a joy to have on the boat and I look forward to seeing them all in 2011 for another round of micky taking, nick naming and of course the fishing.
Angling breaks for 2,3,4,or 5 days have become very popular and are a good way to relax with some fishing and the social is always important.INTERESTED in an Angling Break in 2011 then contact me Colin for details a.s.a.p. on 01305 766961 or 07968972736 or e mail colinpennyfu2@aol.comView Boats Page

FIVE DAY MAY ANGLING BREAK SPECIAL for Individuals - on the last day of this 5 day angling break a wrecking trip was done with cod, pollack, ling and conger the target species.I headed to one wreck which would give us a chance of all the target species. The first few drifts produced cod and pollack along with the occassional ling all on the magical rhubarb and custard sidewinder lures. As the tide approached slack water an array of squid and/or Ammo mackerel baits were sent down to the wreck and several ling and congers were caught and of course a few greedy monster pouts. The best ling of the trip and a personal best was caught by Peter Gillett from Ipswich. The ling weighed 21Ib and will win Peter a Mission Accomplished badge from Sea Angler magazine.Peter is pictured with his ling.It was certainly a day were the mission was accomplished for the four target species.
