After the recent unsettled weather ,we are looking forward to a few more busy sessions at anchor. The reefing this time of year can provides a steady flow of Channel Whiting , which are great sport on light tackle. Other suspects include Congers ,Pout, Bass and Rays. Occasionally a bonus fish will introduce its self like this beautiful Spurdog shown here by its captor Mark. We wouldn't usually expect Spurs this close inshore ,but that is the essence of angling, you never know what's going to rock up next .Of course we are always hoping for a Cod too, and we have a welcome party waiting . Theses reef trips are inexpensive, productive and the Reefs fished are inshore enough to be awarded protection from our prevailing winds. Bait can be purchased from Sea Fishing Poole's hut on the Quayside, on the morning of the trip. If you require tackle ,this can be provided at additional cost to whomever needs it. We carry some very light line rods aboard for your enjoyment. I always encourage fishing as light as possible ,as this will enhance your experience and increase you catch. Keep a look out for our forthcoming availability ,and grab yourself some great value action.

Weather hasn't been great last couple of weeks, but have managed to get out a couple of times and after the recent storms the fishing is a lot more like winter now .On an individuals trip this week had the first of the Whiting , loads of Congers a few Rays, Smoothound, quite a few Bass but still some Bream .
Also had November round of the Super League (Thursday) despite the moderate to strong easterly wind had a great day for the time of year with 17 species.Plenty of decent Whiting, Black Bream, Pollack, Gurnard ,2 species of Ray and Red Mullet! Top 3 on the day

Three matches on the boat again this week .
First it was the latest round of the Friday species league had nice weather for a change, they had a respectable 15 species for the time of year. Top 3 on the day
1st Ray Barron 254 points

Next it was the Kings Arms Southampton, they had an unbelievable day out for the time of year, probably the best match we have ever had in November! 21 species on the day including Bass, Plaice, Dab , Gurnard, 3 species of Ray, Smoothound, Pollack , Cuckoo Wrasse and Flounder! Top 3 on the day

On Sunday it was the latest round of the Piscary Sunday league, not such good weather unfortunately so had to change the plan a bit, so wasn't quite as good with just 13 species. Top 3 on the day

Last week we hosted this year's Combined services vs the Police comp. 31 anglers on 4 boats, unfortunately the strong easterly wind combined with flood tide for most of the day made the fishing very difficult indeed, but considering the conditions the scores were respectable and 23 species were caught between the boats, top 3 anglers in each boat

Also had the Swan Kings Clear this weekend, in total contrast they had an amazing day out flat calm seas and good tides to get out a bit further for a change, not many species but Big Tope,super Dog,Congers ,Bullhuss, Bream, Undulate Ray and Blonde Rays including a double shot For Jay!

The recent very small tides combined with easterly winds has resulted in very clear water in the bay at the moment, which has
made the fishing very tricky indeed! Just one match on the boat this week IBAC had a difficult day although all bar 1 added to their list for the year of 14 species in the boat Plenty of Wrasse, Gurnards,Bass, Smoothound,Bream and Bream

How the Seasons have changed. I'm old enough to remember the annual pilgrimage to Lymington for the National Cod fishing Comp. The combination of temperature and sea conditions, never added to the excitement of taking part. In complete contrast today ,we fished for Bass in short sleeves. A truly epic days fishing . Well over 100 Bass to the net. Only a few kept the rest returned. My crew today was the grandson of legendary Bass fisherman Tony Harvey. Well done everyone. We had three matches on the boat this week.
1st it was the Thursday round of the Piscary Super League, unfortunately very strong south east wind so confined to the harbour.Great fishing though, considering the tides and time of year. 13 species including Pollack,Big Ballan Wrasse,Bass, Plaice, Black Bream,Tub Gurnards, Flounder and Red Mullet. Top 3 on the day

Next it was the Friday round of the Piscary Super League, we had slightly better weather so managed to get out a very short distance. 16 species all of the above plus Congers and Smalleyed Ray. Top 3 on the day

Next it was the IBAC it was flat calm for a change, so they wanted to try something a little different. Fishing this week seems to be a bit of a transition period, with the summer species thinning out and the winter species not around yet.Have had a few nice fish though .
Just one match on the boat again this week, the Kings Arms Southampton had a nicer weather day than forecast which is unusual. They managed a very respectable 21 species including Couches Bream, Gurnards, Rays, Plaice, Pollack,Bass and a Cod. Top 3 on the day

Managed to get offshore a bit this weekend for a change and the fishing was very good.Plenty of good Bream ,big Tope,Congers lots of Bullhuss and even early Spurdog!
Just 1 Match on the boat this weekend.The Swan Kings Clear SAC unfortunately they don't have a lot of luck with the weather and although the forecast was reasonable we were greeted with a large southeasterly swell which first forced us back into the harbour,we tried again at sea for the flood tide and although the conditions improved the fishing was a bit slow however they did manage 15 species including Plaice, Bass,Tub Gurnards, Congers Flounder and 3 species of Bream. Top 3 on the day
