Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
The weather gods were kind to us to with unbelievable fishing from the moment the anchor hit the seabed we were blessed with fish all day many double and triple shots of whiting and dogfish combos, a Smoothhound took Pete for a walk around the boat, the quality of the fish coming onboard was well above average with the best whiting at 4lb. As we were about to come home we found out that my area had entered into Tier 4 so today was my last trip of the year and thank you guys for making it a special fish filled trip.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and a safe 2021.View Boats Page

Report on-board Flamer IV
The last trip of 2020 saw plenty of action with numerous Congers, Spurdogs, Whiting, Small Eyed Rays, Blonde Rays, Thornback Rays and the usual Dogfish. Squid and Mackerel baits proved to be most successful.
70 year old Ian is wearing the blue coat and Sakuma cap in the picture as he needed a bit of help holding up the lively spurdog.
Lets hope all this Covid - 19 situation can be sorted asap in 2021.
Happy New Year to you all.
Thanks for your continued support, All The Best, Colin, Flamer IVView Boats Page

DEC REPORT - LOCKDOWN TWO AND PLYMOUTH WINTER FISHING
Following the first lock down and the subsequent travel restrictions, the great British 'Staycation' did us proud and here at Patricia Rose Charters we were able to welcome many new customers from a wide range of backgrounds. We have introduced lots of families to the joys of fishing both inshore and offshore and our lady anglers have also produced some very memorable fish including 20lb plus Blonde Rays. As is common when the Blonde Rays come onto the banks, you find yourself , as with most of the year, in competition with those commercial boys who will happily take everything for profit leaving nothing for sport. Our anglers respect the fish and frequently return most big females. As a skipper, I am constantly trying to find the exact mark to drop the anchor to avoid commercial nets and deliver results for the anglers. This often means dropping, setting and resetting several times to find the fish. Just before LD2 we managed to find a patch of good fish producing lovely double figure cod. I took the boat out towards the end of LD2 to give the engines a good run and checked the same mark fishing it with a slow pitch 60 gram jig. Despite the depth and the tide I managed to land a 9lb and 11lb Cod as well as a nice Red Couches Bream. The next time I returned post LD2 with a party of paying anglers it was no surprise that the mark was netted probably taking every last decent fish off it. The start of Dec seen me pick up a SWAF SAC booking and despite the time of year we hit every mark with our target fish and more. On one drift we hit 6 different species. What a day hitting Cod, Black Bream, Ling, Coalfish, big chubb Mackerel, Pollock, Whiting, Scad, Cuckoo and Ballan Wrasse, Squid, Poor Cod, Pout, Pilchard. The weather has forced us into the Sound recently but we continue to get out and are looking forward to getting offshore again to see what the commercial boys have left us. Thanks for your support in 2020, tight lines, merry Christmas, stay safe and here's to a better 2021.View Boats Page

A nice trip fishing at anchor on two Bank marks to the east of Weymouth. Just as we had started fishing on the first mark lots of common dolphins came to join us, a lovely sight.
Over the next few hours the anglers caught several Spurdogs in the 12Ib to 15Ib 8oz range along with Tope, Bull Huss, Blonde Rays, Spotted Rays, Small Eyed Rays, Congers, Whiting and the usual Dogfish.
Squid and Mackerel cocktail baits being the most successful.

With a combination of COVID 19 lockdown and unsettled weather we have not been doing as much fishing as hoped this month which is a shame as the fishing has been great! We have been going to sea with two on board to take advantage of the good fishing.
We haven't seen any cod on the trips but there have been plenty of nice whiting about to nearly 3lb. In addition there have been some nice sized blonde rays and lots of Conger eels. There have also been some nice bass around with several 6lb+ fish being released along with a few smaller ones.
Closer in there have been beautifully conditioned plaice to over 2lb, flounder, sole, red mullet, smoothhound and more bass. You literally do not know what fish you are going to catch next.
Wishing everyone a happy festive period after such a troubled year...View Boats Page

Report on-board Lady Margaret
The fishing continues to be good. We have spent the month concentrating our efforts on plaice and bass.
The plaice fishing has been steady and there have been plenty of nice sized fish landed along with gurnards and black bream. There have also been some big shoals of mackerel around on occasion.
The bass fishing has been very good. Lots of smaller fish around as there has been all year but also some bigger fish in the 8lb and 9lb class. Some particularly frenetic sessions have seen all rods playing bass at the same time.
Next month will see us turning our attention to winter species. This month has seen the weather turn more unsettled so hopefully we will get some settled spells over the winter.View Boats Page

The latest set of COVID measures have changed my operation to only taking 1 angler , it seems strange to have so much room but if it sorts the problem then it is worth it. The weather has not been brilliant but we have managed a few days fishing for Whiting, Rays and Bass and have been successful but as usual with fishing something comes up you were not expecting and this year it is the late run of Mackeral being caught this week string fulls all the time more than I have seen all season a real bonus. Once the wind drops out the Whiting fishing will be coming into its best so if you fancy the boat to yourself please give me a call, full social distancing measures are in place and a scanning card is onboard for track n trace.
