Report on-board Aquila
Been out loads with Chris Gill, and we always catch a lot of fish. I used to go out from Looe but one trip out from Mevagissey with Chris and i've never gone back. Its 20 mins extra down the A30 but worth every minute.
I've done 10 trips in the past 2 years and caught double figure fish on every trip. Congers up to 50lb, Pollack to 16lb, Ling to 20lb (common), amongst others fish such as 4lb Haddock, Cod and the tasty Red Gurnard!
The shark fishing isn't something i've done out of Mevagissey but i've seen the pictures, so they are defo out there.
You only have to look at the record books of 20 years ago to see that Mevagissey was the place to go fishing from it held almost every record! Only two boats out of there now and its fishing very well as a result. And the wildlife out there is better than anywhere in the Uk that i've been. Whales, dolphins, basking Sharks are things i've seen on almost every trip. Pilot whale for example (see below) which we actually hand fed at the side of the boat!View Boats Page

"THE WALTONS" - Bill Walton and his small group of friends came out on a specialised trip for plaice and turbot. They were not dissapointed.I set up a drift on the mussel beds and on the first drift four plaice were caught and the same on the next drift this was added by a few more in the next hour including a 5Ib 2oz plaice caught by Bill him self.Bill in fact landed four plaice. Then we drifted the famous Shambles Bank and caught two turbot weighing 11Ib and 9Ib also a cod of 6Ib.So all in all a satisfactory day at the office despite the thick fog that we had to endure all day.Just a special note to a member of the group who did note catch a plaice or a turbot,Fred did well catching dogfish and pout clearing them out the way for the others to catch the flatty's,perhaps it will Fred's turn for the flatty's next time.

Report on-board Crimson Tide
Well we fished the legs earlier this week so we decided to go even further in the fine weather. To say the weather was good was an under statement it was flat calm and wall to wall sunshine lets hope the fishing would match up . We had already decided on our destination but we just had to try one small wreck on the way that we had never fished before, the first two drifts produced 8 fish to live sand eels then nothing for next three drifts so we pushed on. The next wreck paid dividends with fish straight away and all through the tide until slack water when it died. We put on hopper rigs to try for for an unlucky cod , but all the hopper rigs produced were large pout up to 4lb 1oz not bad for a smelly.
We decided to head for home and try the small wreck we had tried on the way, but it was just as we had left it blanco strange seems it had started so promising. The tally for the day 50-60 Pollock up to 16lb and of course the smelly which rolly is holding .View Boats Page
